Pay rate before VR ... and after - goneandhappy

I was with N and their predecessors for 18 years. Before Voice Wreckognition I was making about $36 an hour and working part-time and regularly received quality bonuses. After all the wage cuts with N I was making minimum wage when I quit in March. It was getting paid for every other line that finally got to me.

....but unfortunately I am still there, getting "coached" for not meeting line minimums.... That is what happens on crap accounts that we are training for offshore, constantly out of work, and taking half of my lines to boot.... no way to succeed.

I also am coached for not meeting line minimums with crap accounts. Still struggling and would not be surprised if I get fired. But, for the first time in my long work history, I do not care if that happens. Considering this is a 1-income household, it must be bad for me to say that.

I expect "the call" any day now that says I have to go through their micromanagement program - after 20 years in this field! Yes, I am looking for something else but hope I get fired so I can collect UE and take a long break to detox from nuance before the next door of opportunity opens.

Thankfully, I did not invest more than 5 years in this "career." I am sorry that I went down this road at all. It seemed to make sense when I started in 2009. But I am shocked and dismayed with what it is today. I am glad I quit and moved on to a totally new direction.

I recently read a job posting that required 150 lph for straight type and 225 for VR - Does this make sense ? These companies are using the excuse that we should be able to produce "twice as many lines" with VR - thus - HALF the pay. On a report to us today that someone had a 700+ LPH rate. When I questioned it, I was told that they didn't know how that could be either, it was on the management report they got. If QC is over 10%, then the pay is 7/3.5 pennies a line. If it's that amount and the speed is just about 100 lines or a little over that an hour, I think that would amount to below minimum wage, wouldn't it? So I think the 7/3.5 pennies a line pay rate automatically is equivalent to MUP--unless the MT is very speedy. 7/3.5 pennies a line pay rate is pretty ridiculous. During this transition time I was trying to decide between IC status and employee status. I was doing this because I thought that being an IC would save my 1/2 cpl decrease that you get with employee status. However, in my packet, my rate is now 9 cpl, down the 1/2 cpl as mentioned, but the choices were still FT, PT or IC. I know a lot of us wonder what the reason is for PT status MTs to lose 1/2 cpl. We have been told that it is because at some point we could possibly switch to FT.
