How much can you produce on Escription platform? - Long time MT
Posted: Apr 22, 2010
Once you are up to speed on Escription platform, what is a reasonable number of lines per hour you can produce (low to high)? Thanks in advance.
It really depends on the quality of drafts coming through - me

eScription learns as it goes along, so new accounts will have bad drafts, which take a lot longer to fix no matter how good the MT is, it just takes more time. However, when I worked with eScription, I worked on outpatient notes and after about a year our drafts were coming through wonderfully. There were times when I could speed up the dictation to 150-200% and sip my coffee and only had to fix periods and such. I would say that on a good day with a good account you could do 500-600 lines/hr, but even on bad accounts you could easily do 250 lines/hr. The hard part is staying focused and not missing anything. So, again it is really dependent on how long the account has been on the system, how consistent the MTs are in their edits, and how fast/clear the dictation is.
Is there anyway to retreive a report or part of a report after my computer burped and rebooted itself. The report went back into the Que, but the report I had done so far is not there. Would it be stored somewhere on my computer?
Help - this is happening too much today and I am losing lots of reports. ...
Hello all, have joined new outfit. Anyone willing to share any tips or suggestions for Escription platform? I'm told it is Word based.
I'm curious about text expander use. The information mentioned Autotext, Autocorrect and other tools embedded in Word, but also mentioned certain issues related with text replacement.
Any suggestions or tips will be much appreciated. ...
Is there any way to easily get capitals to change when you add or remove a period? It's so frustrating when, for example, when you take a period out and the next word doesn't automatically capitalize like it does in a lot of other platforms. Word macros don't seem to work. : (

I realize we were told that we cannot use satellite internet with Escription program, but has anyone actuallyl tried doing this? I live where they only have satellite internt and commute to a large city, so I can work for Nuance. So far this has worked out okay, but I really would like to be home more. Am just wondering if this is possible. ...
it will work, and then the next time I try to use the same correction, it will not work. Am I doing something wrong? Is it the platform? Any suggestions? ...
I would like to know if anyone makes a decent living using this platform. Any comments appreciated, i.e., average lines per day, hour, anything to give me better understanding. Thanks. ...
I just received my Infinity USB foot pedal from PCDictate. I am employed with Nuance using the eScription platform and I am unable to get this foot pedal to work. Can anyone who works on the eScription platform (preferably with Nuance) tell me what settings to use so this thing will work? I'm about at my wits end. I'm beginning to think the old pedal I had was fine and I spent money for nothing. I have a new computer and it shows the pedal IS installed and functional, but it ...
If you don't have any work available.
Whether it is due to improvement in ASR, etc. etc., (song and dance here), there are too many fingers in the pie.
I don't see how any company can hold employees hostage to get 40 hours when the employees have scheduled work times and there is nothing for them to do in their *scheduled* hours...they are told to *flex*, then they *flex* to other days and there is still no work.
It's like being on-call....be available 24/7 because they * ...
Is this platform good/bad/indifferent. I have used ExSpeech which was a horrible platform. Just wondering what is an average line count/hour that you can get on this platform. I know there are a lot of variables, but a "ball park" idea would be great!
Thanks, ...
I have no choice but to accept because the rug has been pulled from under me and my fellow co-workers. Hospital outsourced to a transcription company and 0.37 cpl is what they are offering us using eScription. ...
I am new to escription and start with my new job on Tuesday. Is there any advice beforehand? I really need a job at home right now or I wouldn't even give VR a second look. But because it is what it is I was wondering if anyone could give me pointers? Thanks. ...
Hi there! I posted a while back b/c i was a bit nervous after 20 years going to voice rec. Its only been a week now and i really REALLY love it. I enjoy it. Okay shoot me now I konw most of you hate it.
Anyway, I remember when i started a regular transcriptiion job a few years ago and i had to get used to an entirely new system, i was going so incredibly slow i never thought id be able to make a living with all the little bits and details. But it worked out fine and i eventually got it down ...
Does anyone who does QA on escription/editscript know how to get their counts? I know MTs get their line count through the transcription metrics, is it the same for QA?
Thank you,

For a company with technology in its name, I find this platform sorely lacking. Constantly having to correct capitals I don't want when I take out a period, it not putting a macro over what I want to change and all this backing up and retyping to change stuff or get a macro to work where I want it is driving me crazy (I know, short trip) and wasting a lot of time. Don't they have any engineers or programmers who can get around this? Guess I just got spoiled at Precyse; mac ...
Anyone on this platform, please tell me it gets better.
I spent 2-1/2 hours and got absolutely nothing done. Demographics locked up completely and I had to X out, sending the work back to pool. Tried to upload, but kept telling me to confirm demographics which I did, then demographics header grayed out completely, then tried to upload, and again message to confirm demographics, which had been confirmed and were now locked up and grayed out.
The entire platform seems just plain overwhelming wit ...
