Why does this company email program time me out? - mt
Posted: Jul 26, 2012
I'll have the email program open and about 30 minutes or so later, it'll log me out. What gives?
Do you need it open all day? - anon

If you have your comagent IM open it will ding when you get a new e-mail.
not really but when I have that comagent IM open.... - mt

it also times out/disconnects. I got sick of that thing so I don't even open it, just the Yahoo Messenger.

My comagent will disconnect occassionally but eventually it turns itself back on, I pretty much just ignore it but I do like that it alerts me to new e-mail.
I think they make E-mail time out because it would "over load" the system if we were all leaving it open all day, but who really knows with this place.
I suppose you could always ask but what is the point with this place. They either give you no answer or an unsatisfactory answer.
Yep - that's why I just leave it alone. I really don't care. :) - mt

It is sent to time out for some reason. I didn't like having to re-long in constantly, so I downloaded Thunderbird (free software) and just have it get my messages from my Nuance account and it never closes. It also has a calendar add on if you like to use that, which I do.
Did anyone else get that email? Anyone else think it is a joke too just like everything else related to Nuance? "We have listened to your feedback about nitpickiness regarding QC1 scoring and have decided to try this program out." So, they are going to start leaving QC1 reports out of Fiesa, so if we want to see any feedback for QC reports we have to email our TSMs for it, yet even more work that is unpaid, which I won't be doing (never really paid attention to QC feedback any ...
I currently have Outlook 2010 on my PC and I HATE IT! I can't save any contacts. I keep getting a message that says I don't have permission to save to that folder or something to that effect. It's has an obnoxious toolbar at the top of the screen that I have to study every time I need to perform any kind of action.
I really just want something simple. I don't have Outlook Express on my PC which I would use if I had it. I've been looki ...
I have several computers and use more than one company's expander program. I want to buy an expander program for my home computer. I also do one contract using my home computer. Any suggestions on the best and reasonably priced expander? Thanks to anyone who replies. ...
I am strongly considering going to part-time, just hoping to get opinions from anyone who has gone from full-time to part-time or opinions from anyone who has just always been part-time. Thanks! ...
I am currently looking for a coding program that I can take part time. I have an A.S.S. in Med. Transcription and work full time at a hospital. They are wanting me to find a program that is AHima accredited as my work will pay for it. I can't attend full time due to kids, work, etc. Any suggestions? ...
Our company just started using a voice recognition program. Obviously, we get paid LESS PER LINE for reports doing it this way.
The way I see it - this is a way to pay MTs LESS than they are worth. Of course, there is less typing, but with the voice recognition program I use, I feel like it would be faster for me to just type the dang report than make all of the corrections, medical, grammar, etc. ...
I work for a company that does not monitor my "hands on the keys." However, I am trying to determine what I am actually earning per hour when factoring in all of the patient demograhics, internet research, etc. that is not reflected in my line count.
Does anyone know of a reasonably priced or shareware program that would do this? Thanks. ...
Ipswitch is ridiculous! I can't believe working for a company that has to rely on internet heavily to do what we do is this shoddy about their email systems. It is not working more than it is! Unbelievable! ...
Okay, I read the email. A lot of it sounds great, that is, that they are giving us some tools such as Benchmark to do our jobs. I do like that. However, the part that worries me is that they are going to be expecting everyone to submit 5% QA or less starting May 1. Anything above that you get a pay reduction of 3 cents a line---did I read THAT right? Now, this 5% may be possible for some with great accounts. I do MOSTLY have decent accounts, at least until I ...
Please email me privately and let's get the ball rolling here folks. It's time to try and get everyone together, a very hard thing to do in this industry, so that our voices can be heard and let the powers that be know that we're not going to take this shame any longer! ...
I cannot believe these MTSOs sprouting up, offering transcription for 5 cpl AND free trials, who advertise as though they are usingUS-based MTs but are obviously using third world slave labor and driving our salaries down even further.... I use only US-based and would rather go out of business then give them my business.... ...
I was just wondering if some of these companies read what people say and perhaps, a BIG maybe, they take it into consideration. Has your company ever sent a group email out about something they read on here? I know at Landmark, one time a long time ago, someone came on here and made accusations that she was not paid by them. The owner send an email to us, letting us know that she was an upset former employee and they have never not paid anyone, ever. Just wondering if oth ...
Oh the irony of this company. 2 lines per hour average for the last week. Looks like they messed up the ASR statistics and the other statistics report. Wait for it, they will send an apology email and make some sorry excuse. Does anyone actually look at this reports or find any sort of purpose? ...
As if we don't have enough BS to wade through and crap emails to read before trying to get a little money from them, I read an email that says "Here is a list of the previous MTIs that were renamed today." Really? Like that matters. If I am going to spend my own time reading the emails that seem more like a trap on how they can keep from giving my my bonus, I would rather read a specific instruction....not that someone got paid to change the name of the instruction. ...
My QC sends out these extremely wordy emails several times a week. I end up skimming them, for a couple reasons. One, because I work on so many different accounts/hospital sites that I'm truly never going to retain any of the information anyway. Second, and most importantly, I DON'T GET PAID TO READ THEM! This can't be legal and has been bugging me forever. Do they seriously think we get paid enough per line to "compensate" reading email?? What do you all do? ...
do you think doing QA brings you a more steady work flow? I have been an MT for 35+ years and have worked the last 10 or so of those years at home. I am frustrated with constantly running out of work no matter where I go, so I thought about possibly inquiring about the QA position. Just curious about what others' thoughts might be.
TIA. ...
I get paid by the line. I can't understand why they make me stick to 40 hours. I can't get enough lines in in 40 hours to make a decent living wage. Does anyone know of a company (not IC) that just lets me work as much as I want? ...
Lest any of you would like to continue debating whether the "activity" mentioned is legal versus illegal. Transcend paid out MANY thousands for violating the laws you all are talking about and did so around 2006-2007 as did Softscript pay out many thousands MORE around the same time and there are no doubt more violations. I do not encourage you to continue being side tracked by the conflicting posts on this board but am quite confident you all will be. ...
do. You would think they'd want to keep their MTs/document specialists (whatever) a little happy or at least on an even keel, especially since NO ONE seems to be going into this field anymore!! Of course not! Instead they try to intimiate with mandatory OT and "consequences." Where do they hire these bozos. Actually, Bozo the Clown would do a better job (and at least we'd have a few laughs instead of a whole lot of tears). ...
Okay looks like there are 6 podiatrists in Iowa. So tempted to call and ask office manager if they know what is going on with their transcription...

First put us on VR. Hey, good deal! I like VR. Then then cut our pay in half and make us use a new program. No big deal. It's supposed to be the best! I can live with it. I should still be making the same if not better.
Uh-oh. Problems with the program. Support can't straiightens it out but, hey, I'll live with that! Just gotta learn to get around the quirks.
Oh, wow! No work. Pay going downhill. Hey, new accounts coming on line. Yippee! Maybe I can finall ...
How can one company expect an IC to be full-time? Isn't this a contradiction? I mean, how can you be an IC and work for only one company? Or, does this mean that you should have more than one job and work more than full-time? ...
I need supplemental income and am looking for a companyto work as an IC. I am not overly concerned about running out of work, as I just want supplemental income. Does anyone know a company that it is easy to get started, no long drawn out hiring process with IC work that is maybe overflow or something along those lines or am I just dreaming? TIA. ...
I hope things change for the better for those who remain.
But since willfully stupid optimism isn't really my thing, I hope everyone who is unhappy with what has become of what used to be a pretty sweet gig finds better opportunities before things get much worse.
Off to exorcise all this garbage from my computer, and then on to pastures with more life in them. ...
