Pay Day October 9th for Transcend? - PayCheck

I work for Transcend and we are scheduled to be paid October 9th, but Monday, October 8th is Columbus Day and a federal holiday which means banks are closed. So will this push pay day up to Wednesday the 10th? I haven't worked here very long and wanted to know. Just wonder if the holiday would effect the pay date?

The banks are open the 9th, why would you not get paid on the 9th? Payroll is usually cut off a week in advance and will probably be done on Friday the 6th, just my guess. With electronic funds, you will probably see your money the 9th. I don't work for them, but you could always call your manager and ask. I'm assuming if they said the 9th, they mean the 9th, not the 8th, not the 10th.

I asked the question because on their pay date schedule it says "weekends and bank holidays could affect pay date schedule." I don't know when the money is actually deposited, I would assume at midnight on the 9th but I don't know and as I said I am fairly new to Transcend. You're right, I could ask a manager but I thought someone out here might know and sometimes it's faster to get an answer out here.

I have worked for Transcend (now a part of Nuance) since April. When a pay day falls on a Monday, my pay gets Direct Deposit that Friday after midnight. I have NEVER had a problem with being paid by Transcend. It always gets posted on time, if not earlier.

To the ????? poster there is no need to be snippy with her. She just asked a question and as Thumper says "If you can't say nothin nice don't say nothin at all"...anyway I have worked for them a few years and never had pay be different day than what the chart states so Monday holiday should not make it different and we should get paid the 9th. Have a good weekend and don't worry about negative nellies :)

Thank you txmtmom for your polite reply. I couldn't help but wonder why ??? Anonmymous bothered to answer my question anyway since he/she stated that they didn't even work for Transcend. If you don't work for them then how can you answer a question about their payroll schedule? But no big deal, I refuse to allow someone I don't even know to get under my skin. It's all good! ;-)

I wasn't trying to get under anyone's skin and I didn't mean to offend you. For me it would have been easier to call and ask than to wait for a response here, but that's just the way I am. If they said payday was the 9th, it appeared to me that they had already taken the holiday into consideration. To me, the 9th means the 9th, apologizing again because I'm such a negative Nellie.

I am curious as to if the TLs are meeting their requirements. They are expected to type 75-80% of their time and get paid by the line as well . I am very suspicious that they are not typing VR all day, having their work sent to India, etc, and are getting the straight typing. They get paid a flat fee per month for their administrative duties on top of that. I wonder if they are experiencing no work and looking at a blank screen most of their time& ...

I have read dozens of posts on the board about Transcend, some good and a lot not so good. However, I think there is an explanation for some MTs loving it there and others hating it so much. Transcend is a company made up of many other companies through mergers. The original Transcend who existed first, before acquiring other companies seems to be the problem. I was with the company for over five years, not once failing to meet the requirements of me yet I was told my position would have to change to 2nd or 3rd shift if I wanted to keep my job as there were no positions available for 1st shift. Did anyone else get the memo from Transcend (soon to take over from DTS) about the line rate change for the transitioning employees from DTS? It was elegantly written, but basically it said that when the accounts are switched over the VR that the line rates will decrease but productivity will increase and no cut in pay is expected.
