Oracle OR Nuance Transcription Service - callie

Hi, I have just been contacted by Oracle and by Nuance Transcription Service and wondered if anyone had any experience with either company.

Great place to work - nobody bothers you, Bayscribe is an easy platform. But the pay is only 8 cpl. However, that being said, with Baycribe you can easily do 300+ lines per hour so do the math. :) I'd say go for it. I was there for 8 months and only left for a better line rate.

I worked for nuance for 5 years and it was great at first. I kept getting moved from account to account and from team lead to team lead. The last team lead I ended uo with was a flake, whatever QA said was right in her eyes even though QA was wrong and QA could never agree on anything and where clueless. When I challenged my corrections and I was right to begin with my Teamlead would never reverse my corrections. Got tired of their crap and finally quit. So depends on what account you get and who your team lead is. Could be great or terrible.

I've just started working with Oracle, and seem to like it okay so far. However, I am reading all these posts here about pay decreases, no work, and no communication. Is this all sudden and not typical of them? I'm a little worried now. I know lots of companies get bashed on this board and some for silly reasons, but I was wondering if there was any truth behind the posts here, or if it's just a few "unhappy" MTs. Has anyone heard of Nuance escription service? Apparently the hospital I transcribe for has decided that they don't want to use the contract service I am currently with and are going to this. My current employer tells me that the pay rate will be less than what she pays which is .10 a line. I can barely make it sometimes on that. I'm not sure how I will do on less pay. It does have more benefits, but I can't pay my bills with those. If anyone has any kind of info on what they pay ...

I was sent a link to test for this company and was absolutely floored! I did the application form portion of the test and then was directed to the screening process, which was a series of multiple choice and fill in the blank questions (10 minutes it took to complete).
