I am an MT with 25+ years experience. I sent my resume and an application and never heard back from them. Someone on the boards here said that they are always low on work. Good luck to you!

If you look at their website, it says they are not hiring now.

I worked for Oracle about 3 years ago and I loved working for them. Most of the accounts were really good - I had 5. The owners are wonderful - still manage to maintain their humanity in this industry. Only negative was that I caught the account manager in a huge lie about the work volume for the account I was on and when I questioned her about it, she told me that my "expertise was needed on another account". I believed her at first because I had been a CMT for 25 years and could do all of the accounts. I didn't realize at the time that she was in charge of which MTs were assigned to each account because the original QA person no longer did that job. She was pissed at me for questioning her. Ended up with an absolutely horrible account with an extremely low volume of work and could not afford to stay which I suspect is what she wanted anyway since I was paid a really good line rate and was making good lines and good money on my original accounts. The staff was really wonderful also.

They don't sound so "wonderful" to me if they would do that to an MT with 25 years of experience. Just sayin.

LOL. Jimmy, I understand why you would say that but it really was only 1 person there who was not "wonderful". The rest of the staff, the payroll person and the tech team were great although if you called late at night, the tech person was a little sleepy sometimes. The company always paid on time and most of the accounts were good. I would probably still be working for them if the account manager hadn't lied to me about the work. I should have reported her but didn't. The president of the company did call and ask me if I would reconsider and she left the door open for me to come back. I already had another job at the time so I just left because I didn't have time for the account manager's games. She just didn't like the fact that I could do 300 lines an hour on the accounts I had and was making more money than she was at the time. This was all straight typing and no normals or standards pulled into the reports. She also didn't like the fact that because of my typing speed, I didn't have to type the 6-8 hours she thought were needed to meet my line requirements even though I was an IC and not an hourly employee. Unfortunately, the same thing happened to other MT's I know who worked for other companies and they gave up being MTs completely. Somehow it always comes down to the money.
It looks like they only hire ICs now?? - Looking around nm
I've been with OTI for about 10 years. Here is my experience. - sm

"Back in the day" I could easily make part time $$ as that was what I wanted to do. We used to have weekends when we would get an extra 1 cent per line to do get accounts caught up. Then about six to eight months ago I think they hired a bunch of people so the work pool thinned quite a bit. I have not hit even part time requirements in over six months due to NJA. I notice on the daily e-mails about the work available that there are new accounts, none of which I was offered. I've asked for additional work in the past and was just told "we'll contact everyone when new accounts become available." Maybe OTI does not like me, although I have never had any negative feedback from them. I honestly think they are hiring newbies at a lower line rate and just ignoring us old timers, although I still make the same line rate as when I started. It's really sad because the people at OTI in the past have been very nice but it seems like lately you have to be an "insider" to get anywhere with this company. I'm having to look for supplemental work but like many of you, with 20+ years experience, it's touch in the MT field.
Old timer at Oracle here too and - same experience

I've been with OTI for a long time too and I think I could have written what you just did, same exact experience!
The work seemed to suddenly dry up about 9 months or so ago and I run out of work more often that not. There are many days that I check in for work and there is none or maybe just a couple of reports and then I run out. I have also asked about more work and have been told the same thing, "we'll contact you when new accounts are available." But the problem is that I'm never contacted. I'm a good MT and there never have any problems with my work, so I don't know why. Unless maybe they are putting their newer lower paid MTs into these new accounts and leaving all of us old timers in the dust.
It's really sad too because they used to be a great company and used to have a lot of humanity left to them, something that was rare to find in this world in any industry. OTI even has on their website that they still work with the first MT that they ever hired. Well, maybe they really are still working with that one MT, but sadly it looks to me like they may be trying to move the rest of us old timers out.
Does anyone currently (or you did sometime this year) work for Oracle Transcription? If so, what's your experience been like?
I'm interested in working with them part time as an IC. ...
I've just started working with Oracle, and seem to like it okay so far. However, I am reading all these posts here about pay decreases, no work, and no communication. Is this all sudden and not typical of them? I'm a little worried now. I know lots of companies get bashed on this board and some for silly reasons, but I was wondering if there was any truth behind the posts here, or if it's just a few "unhappy" MTs. Anything you can share would be great! Thanks so much! ...
I'm wondering if anyone has some updated information on ANP transcription? I've searched and found some older info regarding late payment, low rate. I've passed their tests and have transcribed focus groups before, and right in their contract it states how often they pay and the rate, so I'm clear on that. I'm not trying to make a full-time job of this gig, just some extra money. It's always scary to hear some bad news about a prospective job, but it didn't se ...

Hello, I was just wondering if there is any new information about Breitner. I have read both good and bad things. I was offered a position with them. This would be my very first job as a new graduate, and I want a good first-job experience. I understand that not everyone is going to love every company. There are going to be people out there that share their good and bad experiences, which I appreciate. How valid are the complaints though. I do not want to pass judgement on a company and miss a g ...
Does anyone have any solid information on what is going on with Landmark? I was recently asked to test by this company and most of the communication was done via email. I have over 30 years of experience and this is the first time that I have ever been asked by a company to download their softwiare in order to be able to test. I downloaded the software on Tuesday evening and spent until yesterday trying to figure out why I could not get the Bayscribe player to come up. When I contacted the lady who seemed to be in charge of the testing, she had no id ...

I've looked through the archives here and I'm not finding any current information on SOAP Transcription. Does anyone have any recent info for me on the company? Are they a good company to work for? What is their pay like? I read on their website that they hire someone with a Learntranscription.com certificate or a certificate from any accredited AHDI affiliation. Is that a must to get hired there? I don't have any certifications, but I have quite a bit of experience. ...
