Has anyone heard of Nuance escription service? Apparently the hospital I transcribe for has decided that they don't want to use the contract service I am currently with and are going to this. My current employer tells me that the pay rate will be less than what she pays which is .10 a line. I can barely make it sometimes on that. I'm not sure how I will do on less pay. It does have more benefits, but I can't pay my bills with those. If anyone has any kind of info on what they pay or how they are to work for, please let me know!

Suits where you work were surely told MTs can do ++ more lines - on ASR. It is a lie, certainly not true. nm

our hospital in AK went to this company in December 2011. I went from making $26 an hour to making 0.04 a line edited and 0.08 a line transcribed. BE PREPARED to not make any money!

LaDonna, I'm in the same boat. We've been treated so well, I don't think we are ready for the "real" world. Did you check out the Nuance forum on this same website? A lot of unhappy campers, 4 cpl,line counts and hours not adding up. I'm really scared. It's like the Medquist nightmare happening all over again.

When I started with the company we had a decent amount of straight typing at 8 cpl, which was fine. Then, every account was slowly swallowed up by SR at 4 cpl and let me tell you, there are times when it takes just as long to edit SR as it does for straight typing. You do the math.

Does anyone here currently work or previously worked for this company. Was notified today this company has taken over transcription for my job. They are supposed to keep us on but would like to know something, anything about this company such as how they are to work for, pay schedule, assigned shifts or not, etc. I am currently home based and pretty much work what ever hours I please as long as report types I am qualified to do are covered. I'm not too fond of Fluency/DoQscribe. The platform itself is nice, but it doesn't seem to be as good at speech recognition as eScription. Fluency is very user friendly, but when I worked at MM it produced horrible drafts on speech recognition. I know that could in part be attributed to multiple MTs using a variety of editing styles, which could cause the platform to not learn, but all I know is it was a struggle getting a good line count with VR on Fluency. Hi!! We had our meeting at the hospital today with Nuance about being onboarded with them. We were told by HR that the hospital will let us keep the computers we have been working on, but that Nuance will be sending us the "special" Escription foot pedals. Is this true? I have never worked on Escription before. Does it require its own pedal? I am so heartsick about this transition but at this time, I have no other options. I was sent a link to test for this company and was absolutely floored! I did the application form portion of the test and then was directed to the screening process, which was a series of multiple choice and fill in the blank questions (10 minutes it took to complete).
