Nuance took over my clinic - JB

I just found out today when I had no work with my smaller company that Nuance took over all the work starting today. I found out they knew about it 2 months ago and didn't tell us. I am waiting on the contact information from the original clinic manager at the doctor's office so hopefully we can go with our work.

Has anyone else had this happen and if so how good are the chances of just going with Nuance. At this point I just need the work.

Nuance is hiring, and you could just apply with them and then possibly request to go with the account. It stinks you were given no notice, but that seems to be the way of the world anymore. Good luck.

I have the contact information I was supposed to be given 2 months ago so I am going to call and see what happens.

for a while. If it is a good acct, good dictator, easy lines, it will go OS pretty quick. Dont let your clinic tell you this is a good thing for you. IT IS NOT! Your clinic was lied to.

I talked to Nuance today and my clinic has already been staffed, but might have an opening in January when it is finished transitioning. The transcription company had the information 2 months ago that Nuance was taking over and chose not to tell most of us.

Sounds like law suit in there somewhere. Preventing you from working? - Interfering with compensation? nm

before you wouldnt be seeing that acct anyway. But if you wanjt to work for N, no matter what acct, make a fuss. You know, the squecky wheel....

The small service I worked for did the overflow (about 400 reports per day). The owner was not invited to the meeting where they announced the transfer to WMX and all attendees were asked not to say a word to her about the buy-out. Of course, someone did. But the next day, the work disappeared and was gone for a good two months while they trained the WMX crew. One MT was promoted, the rest were laid off. I stayed on as an IC for a very good rate. Then Nuance came in and did their thing. I worked as an IC for them, too, in total another 3 yrs of IC work.

That means your work is most likely in India by - this time next week. Sad they

I've been doing clinic my whole six-year MT career. Now since there are not that many clinic transcription jobs anymore, I'd like to learn acute. No idea who that ad on the Job Seekers board is from (Tracy in Lousiana, but no company name). with 1 other girl, and then the QA girl types on this clinic also. I still have not figured this out. We keep the work caught up and this QA girl gets on there and types with us when there is nothing to type. I mean there can be 10 jobs there and she will get on to help us type 10 jobs. My company makes me type any other clinic that is behind and this being the holiday, we have been given an extra 45-50 jobs to type from other clinics and the QA girl is nowhere to be seen ...

Has anyone started to get more work in the last year (in a clinic setting)? It was steady for me a few years ago, and now I am overwhelmed with the amount of dictation I have!! Each of the doctors I work for are seeing wayyy too many patients in one day, thus more dictating, etc. Im putting in like 10-12 hour days now, whereas I used to only work 5 or 6. Do I understand correctly that we are basically "punished" for working on the Emdat platform via the "platform factor" of all lines x 0.95? When I work each day, I will have lines that I actually typed deducted simply because I work on the Emdat platform? I hope I am misunderstanding this. Over the past few days, along with my usual snot and threat-o-grams, I have been getting emails telling me that I have to work the holidays. Does anyone know what the latest status of the Mayo Clinic is, with regards to medical transcriptionists? I remember they laid off something like 118 MT's last summer, and I believe someone here said they outsourced their work to Amphion. So today I happened to look on the Mayo Clinic homepage under Jobs, and according to that, it says they're hiring "telecommute" MT's. I can't find any mention of an MTSO... it appears to be a Mayo Clinic ad, not an MTSO ad ...
