Punished for Emdat Clinic 360? - Umm

Do I understand correctly that we are basically "punished" for working on the Emdat platform via the "platform factor" of all lines x 0.95? When I work each day, I will have lines that I actually typed deducted simply because I work on the Emdat platform? I hope I am misunderstanding this.

If this is the case, can someone please explain why this would be? I understand that some people have more difficult platforms, and they should be compensated accordingly, but why are they taking my lines away? Really confused.

.. have to reduce your total lines by 5%? For every 1000 lines we type in Emdat we lose 50. If that is a reward, I would hate to see what the punishment is.

Just because you get more lines taken than me doesn't mean I'm going to consider it a reward for crying out loud. If I got robbed of $100 by a mugger in the streets and you got robbed of $25, I wouldn't tell you that you got a reward because I had more taken. BTW, I'm talking about typed lines here, not VR. It's 5% of our typed lines in Emdat that are being taken. I didn't see anything in the platform factor info in the compensation plan that showed a platform that got 50% of its typed lines taken away. What platform is that?

you figured the lines correctly. Instead of the difficult platforms getting extra pay, Emdat and another platform get knocked down because their platform is easier. The other platform is 85%? I think. Think of that..type 1000 lines, get 850. They confirmed this in the phone conference. Great, huh.

It's just ridiculous and demoralizing.

When they bought up my prior MTSO, they ended up changing our platform to something infinitely worse (because it wouldn't mesh with their speech engine I think, not exactly sure).

What we were on before was infinitely superior to what we are using now (not Emdat but I don't want to incriminate myself).

Still nowhere near the line count I could achieve on my prior platform, PLUS the speech engine actually learned things!

Having said this, it seems with this new plan they are attempting to make a hamfisted and lazy effort to "equalize" things, but what about so many other issues which affect the "grid" which people have mentioned (i.e. accounts allowing only 1 blank, the ones where you cannot even see your FIESA errors, etc.).

Nuance has plenty enough money to equalize everyone and put us all on the same platform (and to build a great platform if they utilize their staff which produces their other software) if they wanted to.

Again, a sign of us not being important enough to bother and not worth any effort except lip service and vague gestures to give the impression they are trying to equalize the process.

You get good lines on EMDAT. It works in favor of the MT and lines are probably counted more like how they are counted in Microsoft Word. Where I work they don't take lines from us and yes, lines add up at a fairly decent pace and I do straight typing for that particular job. EMDAT (other than the hospital I came from) is the only platform out there that seems to count lines accordingly.

How cheap does Nuance needs to be? Or should I say stingy, greedy, inconsiderate and selfish. We MTs already don't make much as it is and a few extra lines on a platform is killing them?

I just left a small shit company also doing nuance work ... and being very dishonest about it when asked. I didnt WANT to work for or support Nuance. Nuance openly practices age discrimination and they are penny-pinchers with no corporate morality.

you could have heard a pin drop before the umms and uhhhs started. Finally the answer was something along the lines of "ummm...to even the counts across the platforms, some of which are more cumbersome and slower." In other words, there was no good answer.

... they actually said it was a good thing, sort of a compliment in fact, lol. It was something along the lines of.."Inscribe is much more efficient than the other platforms, so really this is a good thing... a testament as to how well your platform performs." lmao!

Essentially... because the tools we use are better quality, they are reducing our pay. That would be like an auto repair shop paying a mechanic less because they use Snap-On tools instead of Harbor Freight... even though the auto shop is the one who provides the tools to its employers. That would be crazy.... so is this crap with Nuance.

It really irritates me that MTs pay has come down to this, based on the type of system that this employer has put into place, which reduces our pay even more because of poor quality doctors that the hospitals employ. I just found out today when I had no work with my smaller company that Nuance took over all the work starting today. I found out they knew about it 2 months ago and didn't tell us. with 1 other girl, and then the QA girl types on this clinic also. I still have not figured this out. We keep the work caught up and this QA girl gets on there and types with us when there is nothing to type. I mean there can be 10 jobs there and she will get on to help us type 10 jobs. My company makes me type any other clinic that is behind and this being the holiday, we have been given an extra 45-50 jobs to type from other clinics and the QA girl is nowhere to be seen ...
