When you overstaff accounts, you instill a sense of fear in your workers.  Fear that they will not make enough money to eat/pay their rent/afford the finer things in life...like toilet paper and toothpaste.  When this happens, your workers rush to finish reports.  When they rush, they make mistakes.  When they make mistakes, your clients lose faith in your company.  Your workers also lose any loyalty they may have had to your company.  This is a lose-lose situation.  Hire a staffing analyst or twelve and figure out how many workers you actually need.  While you're at it, STOP POSTING HELP WANTED ADS ON EVERY MT SITE ON THE INTERNET.  You do not need more workers, you simply need to give the ones you have enough work to survive, so that your employee turnover isn't so high.  You're wasting money by hiring and training personnel only to have them run for the hills when they realize there is not enough work to earn a living wage.  How on earth can this company afford to buy other companies for 300-million dollars and cannot afford to hire personnel to accurately figure out staffing is beyond me.  Show the workers you still have that your company is worth their efforts.  Either that or switch the whole deal to VR right now and let India edit it all, since that's where you seem to be headed anyway.

The results of that survey were eye opening.

Most people are satisfied with Nuance in general, the pay rate and incentive????

Got an email today about the results.

I have to admit based on my experience at Nuance with 15+ years in this business under my belt, I find it highly suspect that the majority are satisfied with compensation and the bonus in particular.

Those surveys are never anonymous, no matter what they tell you. If you told the truth and told them you were miserable, you would be shown the door. Assuming those MTs who answered were not completely honest.

Who wants to run the risk of being put on radar even if they don't like it at Nuance, because we got to hold onto what little bit we got until we get something better. Seriously, Nuance already knows how people feel-they don't care-that pulse survey and junk like that is for show and probably gives some tax write-off.

I'm a high producer and self starter. I haven't been put on PM yet but fear I might.  Got an email that said I had a "low-scoring feedback report."  It was for using follow up instead of followup (I know better) and then omitting the word "the."  Now, I will own up to these mistakes, they WERE my mistakes, but by no means life-threatening in any case.  But apparently this caused my score to drop below 98%.  Now I'm terrified they are going drop my pay by 3 cents a line, and I am already in danger of not being able to ...

After being with Nuance for over 1 year, I am disappointed that all I ever hear is bad news. I strive to make each document excellent, not just good, but no one cares about that, all they want is LPH which mysteriously went from 100 to 200 for the same pay. Nuance has just had a MAJOR announcement!  They are making changes to upper management AGAIN.  It is no wonder we get paid crap.  Look at their structure and they have WAY too many people in this establishment and all making way more than we do and we are the ones that do the work.  Heck, they probably do not even know how to do transcription I bet.  Greed, greed, greed.  And I could care less about it.  Give me the pay I am worth.  They want better qualit ...

The TSM and QC person I've worked with forEVVVVER in the west is gone, both of them being moved up into new positions, and dividing their accounts and the entire team of MTs/MMEs has been disassembled and moved to other areas.  I am *terribly* sad about this because they were both absolutely amazing to work for, but I'm glad that I'll be staying in the Western region.
