Has anyone ever been fired from Nuance? - curiousMT

Posting on the main board to get more input. Seems Nuance MTs live in fear of being fired after all the audits and criticism from TSMs, but has anyone actually been fired? I know MModal fires from previous posts but NOT ONE have I read about Nuance firing anyone. Seems odd, yes?

worrying and anxiety for the MTs about losing their job is really necessary. I personally don't think it is. Hopefully, if we can get some feedback this will assure the MTs that there really is no need to fret. Just a bunch of hot air from Nuance.

It wasn't a matter of them firing me, rather me just wanting to be rid of them. They tried to fight my UE but they lost. It really is unbelievable that they are actually an MTSO, IMO. I've said it before and I will say it again, why didn't they just stick with making MILLIONS on their Dragon software and leave us poor MTs alone? It really must be a PITA for them to see the door hitting them in the A$$ with all the $$ they are spending on a daily basis to train MTs and then see them leave so quickly. Yes, Nuance, JMO.

How did you get UE if you quit? I thought you could only get it if they fired you? I don't know if PT even qualitifies, but I have never been so stressed out in all my life as I have been with them. I know I'd probably only get 1/2 with UE, but the stress relief might be worth it.

They are intentionally keeping us from making money by their dreadful VR and punitive QA. They are haranguing and demeaning us daily and weekly about our quality. They will not fire us even if we beg them (and I have) because they are planning not to pay out one penny in unemployment benefits. They just want us to quit in despair.

Here is my theory. Most places now, I have noticed, are paying 7/3. If they cut our pay one more time I would bet that it makes us eligible for partial unemployment. They want us to quit so they can implement the new pay scale without the UI repercussions.

I refuse to look at Fiesa, made a critical error, and refuse to take the dumb classes. So in a normal job I would be fired. Anybody get away with this? TIA.

none of the stupid classes, etc. If they don't pay me for it, I'm not going to do a thing. Still there 3 years. I see there are still no posts from fired ex-Nuancers. See, it's all a bunch of hot air.

Would love to know how many people have been fired, just don't know. I did have an e-mail from someone who had been fired actually, but that is the only one I have heard of. I wonder if you had been fired, would you come to the this board and admit to it, don't know if I would be posting on here. Well actually I would, but thankfully I am close to retirement. I do know someone personally who was fired from M-Modal. When the threatening e-mails go out, they always mention about losing benefits, which as I am part-time I have none except a few, very few, hours PTO. You have to look at Fiesa now as I got an e-mail saying I had to.

They have to pay you if you are required to perform a work-related task. And I too have seen the posts from many fired from MModal but only have I ever seen 1 from Nuance. I would admit to it here as you are anonymous.

but whether or not they enforce the requirement is something else. Some managers state they get reports of when you log-in too. If one is really worried, they could log in and then log out or just not log in and see what happens. Right now I am not logging in.

Your one of the lucky ones to have gotten fired. I tried for a year to get fired but to no avail. I finally had to quit!

About 1/4 of our hospital team bought out by Nuance was fired within the first 6 months, one after another. The rest persisted and many have quit. I would hazard a guess that approximately 1/8 of the team is still working for Nuance now.

I WISH they'd fire me, lay me off, whatever... just so I could have my peace of mind back. I'm so dang depressed lately about my lack of production since being stuck on this one particular horrific account that NO ONE wants to do. All I want to do is stay in bed and pull the covers over my head. Not even the fact that I have bills to pay is motivating me to want to work at this crap....

Just keep telling myself that if I don't get fired or laid off, then it's only a matter of months and I'll be able to get out of this nightmare of a job. Such a shame because I really truly loved medical transcription from the very beginning. Now, I just hate what I have to do every single day to earn just enough money to make it to the next paycheck...if I'm lucky.

I know of 3 people (so far) that have been fired by Nuance, since March of 2013. Out of a solid (7-year) team of 23 MLS with a previous zero turnover rate, 3 were fired; 12 have left 'voluntarily.' The rest of us appear to be just waiting.

Well, I was officially fired yesterday. Up until last summer, I was one of their top producers, never having an accuracy problem. The reason I got fired? I got sick. Early last summer, I let a UTI go for 10 days (lived off Rx strength OTC Pyridium) until I was severely septic and urinating almost pure blood and clots. Isn't it odd that being fired from MQ isn't a disgrace? Being fired from any other place would be total humiliation, but I don't think anybody here would ever look down on another MT who was let go. MQ doesn't discriminate. They justly fire bad MTs, but they also fire good MTs who are stuck with crummy accounts, accounts that constantly have NJA, and probably a ton of reasons that are beyond our control. ...

I was fired. I started with Medquist in 1998. They fired me in 1997. I was hired and Spheris and became a Medquist employee after they bought Spheris. I was fired again today. Has anyone been fired and able to draw unemployment from this ridiculous company? I just can't take it anymore, want to quit, but think if I can somehow draw unemployment that would be great for me. So I've been going back and forth since the beginning of this "safety pay plan" getting around 99.5% to 100% for 2 weeks then falling off the grid at 98% (and once much lower), back on the grid, back off. I have been targeted like crazy on audits, getting them every couple of days, and albeit there are some things I did wrong (had/has), I am getting marked for stuff like leaving a blank, sending to QA, and then marked wrong for the blank on a critical error saying I should have been able to find this.
