I was fired from diskriter because I had quality but not the quantity.

but never any complaints of the quality of my work. Had found a good company (small) that wasnâ��t bothered by the fact. However, in June they lost the huge hosptial account I was on....so here I am pounding the pavement looking for a job. Another hindrance is I only have wireless internet. Keep your chin up....we'll find a job yet!!

Thanks for your encouragement! I thought quality was what everyone wanted. Can't seem to understand the word expansion program well enough to be a faster speech recognition editor. Thinking of taking classes on it at the vocational school which is pretty expensive at $850. Any other ideas?

In the 2 months I was given to make up to 225 lines/hour on SR, the ESL was not too bad. Platform was fine but having to search for the correct pt was sometimes difficult and time consuming.

should not have to search each patient. I have had 2 jobs in past that paid a clerical percentage on top of lines, because it takes away typing time. Most systems integrate patient info better than that, though.

As a long time MT at DR, I find the undoing of Diskriter to be most upsetting. Anyone else have any thoughts? People have left in great numbers and continue to leave. Global has taken all but a small amount of our work in TR....and those in management could care less about us. I am moving on, but just wondered if others have had this experience? ...

Stay away from Diskriter who has an ad on the Job Seeker's Board. I worked for them and it was THE worst experience of my life. It is a very big hospital they are referring to with lots and lots of facilities associated with it and lots and lots of account specifics. You need to have a certified degree as a rocket scientist to work for them. They chastise you and make you feel worthless. Well, I was officially fired yesterday. Up until last summer, I was one of their top producers, never having an accuracy problem. The reason I got fired? I got sick. Early last summer, I let a UTI go for 10 days (lived off Rx strength OTC Pyridium) until I was severely septic and urinating almost pure blood and clots. Isn't it odd that being fired from MQ isn't a disgrace? Being fired from any other place would be total humiliation, but I don't think anybody here would ever look down on another MT who was let go. MQ doesn't discriminate. I was fired. I started with Medquist in 1998. They fired me in 1997. I was hired and Spheris and became a Medquist employee after they bought Spheris. I was fired again today.
