If you have had a written warning on 3/31 and I am going to assume after a failing audit score on 1 report I did, is firing next?? Really can use input regarding this and unemployment, or really anything you can think of?

I think you get a warning, then performance management, then they reaudit, and then maybe firing. I think each CCM controlls their own MTs destiny, however.
I would keep all e-mails and go through old ones to look for anything pertinent, ie., account specifics and things to show unemployment office how ridiculous their expectations are and how they force us out of our jobs.

will happen. Well I can tell you I am NOT at 99% which is where they want me so who knows. I personally don't care and have just stayed with this crappy company because I get paid more here than any place else I would go.
Was just working for them part time and then got thrusted in full time when my good company sold out to them. Never should have done it. Has been the worst that I could have done.
I agree with the other poster, it will depend on your CCM as to what happens.
A long time ago my manager threatened many times with write ups, etc if I didn't work my schedule but nothing ever came to pass on it. Don't know if they bluff or really mean it.

Medquist took over my hospital (10 years I was there), my fourth month here messed up with SR trying to go fast, (my fault), verbal - two months later failed with a bad date, date was ex. 5/1, doc is dictating HP a day or two later and says 5/2, but I use 5/1 becuase I know that is what he means, well needless to say -3 points, now written, now here is just go back 2 weeks on a 31 minute dictation and oh well - 97 2 nonmedical words wrong? My stomach is a mess and I hate feeling like this.

for a couple of weeks or whatever they do. I would just slow down for a few weeks, double check ADT page info and format, if anything at all is questionable, leave QA note and send to QA, and then go about your day. I am sure you will be fine. I have had several audits years ago that were below the 98% that was required then and I am still here. Just tell them you are sorry, will try harder, and make notes of what they change and watch for that...

was bought by a large, evil one. Ever since, the evil co. has been trying to force me and other MTs from the former company out. It's obvious that all they wanted was the hospital accounts, not the MTs who came with them.
My transcription QA is in the 98.5-99% range, but they keep dinging me for dates just as you describe, formatting, etc.
I now document everything. I save emails, instant messages, and other correspondence between myself and these self-esteem vampires.
If they fire me, I'll collect UE til I find a new job. If I find a new job first, I'll fire THEM.

Called your QC on it. If the billing number has the date of "5/1" and thats the account number you chose because thats where you knew it was suppose to go, what did she expect you to do?
I dont think I would have taken that lying down. I would have nicely/respectfully addressed that with her.
Had you not caught it and sent it to the hospital and they complained, you probably would have gotten in trouble for that. They should be glad you caught it.

Did try and fight it but instructions dictate if ADT is uncertain to take out info to make the doctors responsible for what they say. If nothing is dictated for acct # or proper date, i now waste my time clearing the patient info, typing in the name only, marking correct box and customer comment.

directly affect patient care. Just make sure you always document whenever things like that happen, because when it all boils down to it, its not a critical or major error and I doubt you could have jeopardized patient care by selecting the correct date.
They shouldn't fire you for that. Document all your QA feedback and audit stuff. And like someone else said, it really all boils down to your CCM. I would think your work would have to be pretty horrid in order to get fired.
Keep documentation.

Make no mistake. Your heart is in the right place, but this issue has NOTHING to do with patient care and everything to do with reimbursement from the insurance company and that is the driving force here. If the date is off, then the insurance company has grounds to deny the claim and that is why the QA people are so hot under the collar about this type of stuff. It's because the account comes back and chews THEM out if it's wrong.

The doctor dictated the WRONG DATE. She typed the H&P, the account/billing number was there with the correct admission date and that is what she chose, the CORRECT ONE.
I think she gets it now - Meaning next time just clear the demographics screen and select patient only.
Im just the type of person where I feel like the QC person could have reiterated that to her instead of knocking her 3 pts. Thats all Im saying.

There's no way of knowing if the visit or billing information that the doctor was using just hadn't been entered into the system yet. She said herself that she knew what the doctor meant despite what he dictated. I'm sorry, but that's an error. If there's a discrepancy on something like that if you don't feel comfortable putting what the dictator dictates, then you need to flag it for QA.

I was fired as of 03/27 after 17 years with this awful company. I was written up, put on 100% QA and my pay was docked. It sounds like you were just written up, so I do not think that means you will necessarily be fired. I applied for unemployment. I live in California and I think each state is different, but I just received a letter today saying that I am getting my unemployment. I had a one week waiting period and it took 5 weeks after I applied, but I got it. I am so happy. Just because the company fires you, they still have to pay unemployment. I just told the truth that there is no set standard of treatment in this company, that I had a great work record before this write up, had no help when I had questions, took forever to get any answers, etc, etc, and I got the unemployment, even if it took a while. Do your best, but keep extensive records of what is done to you and when. I kept a log, copied all e-mails, etc. I did not in the end need to use this, but I would do this if I am in fear of being fired. This company is so warped in their treatment of employees I think that unemployment knows that. I had no problem or any difficulty getting my unemployment benefits it just took a little longer because I was terminated. Hope this helps.

I am although, I am going back to school for coding, to cross over into that. I hate transcription now. It is not changing for the better. My daughter also just had my first grandchild (the day I was terminated), so I am really enjoying spending time with her and the baby. It actually ended up being a God send. It is allowing me to go back to school and take some well deserved time off. This company has gone down hill for the last 2 to 3 years and I knew I would be terminated eventually, so it worked out okay. Thanks for the good wishes.
