SIX (6) accounts and NO work this morning. Calling for OT for the weekend. Status report says Friday is a great day to make up time missed...I did not miss any time. ...I am OOW. There are NO jobs. This is the time Nuance scheduled me to work and there is no work for me to do...I am NOT working overtime and I am not making up "missed time." I follow protocol about being OOW and no one responds.

Can we make up 12-15 hours on a Friday? - OOW for months!

I think not. Also, that is infringing on another's schedule. Is that part of the plot to make us hate each other?

I have always wondered how these companies get away with not paying people minimum wage when they have no work. After all, it's THEIR responsibility to see that we have work and if we don't, why should WE get the short end of the stick especially when some of us sit here and keep checking for work.

I can think of reasons why. - sm

1. The OP may not have worked enough quarters in the past to qualify.
2. The OP may be part-time.
3. Benefits are even more measley than Nuance take home pay.
4. Nuance relies on this to keep people around only long enough to ship their work overseas.

Funny when I had computer issues Nuance took ALL my PTO for the 2 days my computer was being replaced and the programs being reinstalled because I cannot have time off without pay...but when I am OOW on the schedule Nuance gave me when they did that ridiculous optimization thingy last year, it is okay for me to be "off" without pay?

I checked my state. It is not mandatory for Nuance to pay when I am scheduled and OOW. It is certainly suggested, but not mandatory.

So, here I am with no work and no PTO left.

Questioned that policy when it first started - along with all the confusion on how to report OOW 10 different ways. "You can make it up but don't have to?" On a verbal right now for this very reason - not meeting hours for being OOW. My head's ready to burst

What are your computer specs? DH brought up a good question tonight. I have recently moved from my old faithful with 80 MB hard drive with 512 memory to 380 GB hard drive with 3 MB memory. i have had nothing but problems with Escription and not making my lines. Been talking with another MT/ME about NJA and makeup time. She was told/asked by her supervisor to change shifts. She brought up the fact that work was being shipped to India and was told that was not the case that she just needed a different schedule. How is that going to help? She is on day shift now. People on second and third are running out of work. Confused how changing work schedule will change NJA. Can't wait to hear what her man ...

you don't have any PTO left from using it all up on NJA, and you have to just take off without pay, what does that do as far as your insurance? Will you lose it? I guess the lesson here is to only take a couple of days of PTO & save the rest for NJA in the fall/winter...? ...

I haven't made by 80 hours per pay in quite a long time (almost a year). I sure there are some of you out there, too. They must not mind paying their portion of my benefits from health insurance to life insurance, STD, an on. What is up with that? I can do it most of the time, but every now and then I miss it, sometimes by as much as 20 lines per hour. I have had 1 email asking that I use my time more productively and make the line count. I recently started working for a new MTSO and am employee-status for the first time. We use a time clock. My LPH is half what it should be due to the volume of horrid dictators. will tell you one more time what they just did to me. In my former BOB was back up to about $18/hour, getting kudos for having 100% accuracy on many reports. Then switched to a new BOB. After working for about 24 hours on the account I was audited, failed at 98.1% and immediately put on 100% QA at which point I quit. I worked for LabCorp for 7 years - started at $14/hr - left 7 yrs later at $19.86/hour -- company has own credit card for employees - called a Clear Card - available to ALL employees - Regular working hours.
