Credit for difficult dictators - anon

Posted: Dec 03, 2014

I took the Enrich module, but didn't see anything about difficult dictators.  Did I miss something?  Sometimes I send a report to QA for blanks and they don't get them either.  Is that still held against us?

for difficult dictators. If you send a report for blanks it counts against you, period.

Difficult dictator - 5150

There are only the 4 factors that were discussed that impact the multiplier (0.5 to 1.35), and it is NOT based on dictators or difficulty of the account, unless that is something a TSM can factor in on the fly

I feel for you Nuance MTs.. - Got out a month ago

This whole pay thing is so terrible. So if one MT is on an account that only allows 1 blank and you have to pend, then there goes your 10% pending average. Another MT might be on an account that allows 3 blanks and will hardly have to pend anything. I thought they were revamping the pend percentage! The only dictators that are left are the heavy ESLs with very few American dictators left. They won't have to bump up your pay for pending percentage.

Difficult Dictators
Oct 26, 2014

As above, I hope in the future this particular issue could be addressed.  This problem is already escalating (at least from where I am now).  This was made even worse by the advent of the SR system.  So, probably some form of counseling or even penalty (major or minor) can be imposed on the dictator if he/she fails to comply.  Coz the way I see it producing a good or even the best transcript is not just the MT's responsibility, but also the dictator's.  I hope these dictators do e ...

Remember When The Difficult Dictators
Mar 02, 2010

were supposed to be paid more for doing?  MQ knows exactly what it is doing and knows very well that things need to be sent to QA.  This is nothing but a reason to drop our wages to Indian wages, they have no respect for us at all.  They are now putting these rules on us, THEY ARE, and then saying it is totally on the MTs shoulder for anything that goes wrong.  Is this legal?  ...

ESL Dictators - Difficult Enough To Understand
Nov 30, 2010

It is difficult enough to understand some of the foreign dictators but when they dictate with monitors beeping, nurses and doctors talking, in the middle of their lunch -brups/cruch/slurp and then they WHISPER ... UGH!!!  It sure makes for a long, long work day!  Just once I would love for a manager to send that message to the hospital to please ask the doctor to either speak up or move to a quieter place to dictate ... alas that never happens and we suffer through the report ... but at lea ...

Cost Differential For Difficult Dictators In The New Plan?
Dec 04, 2014

I didn't see a cost differential for difficult dictators in the new plan? Did anyone else? So you can work day shift  with the lowest tier and have the crappiest dictator around but still get lowest pay. And isn't it lovely that the new rate will be on the Dec. 26 paycheck? I guessing there may be a mass exodus in January.  ...

Lousy Dictators - Crappy, Hard To Understand Dictators, Both ESL And English-speaking
May 17, 2014

Today I will make less than half of what I normally get because all I've gotten today are crappy, hard to understand dictators, both ESL and English-speaking.  Seems like all I get lately are the hard to understand, mush-mouth dictators.  Guess Nuance doesn't want their MTs making quota.  Sorry.  I just had to vent. ...

Credit Inquiry
Jul 29, 2012

Anyone else had a credit inquiry alert from Nuance?  This happened lately too.  This is sort of disturbing, and I don't remember applying for any other jobs there too.  I've been working there for a while too.  Don't they have to have my permission to do this? ...

MModal QA Credit
Oct 29, 2013

Let me get this straight, if I send a job to QA for demos or if I am in training and have 100% QA, then when they correct or proof it, when they send it, they get the line count credit!  Is that what I am reading into this?  REALLY?  Please tell me this isn't true.  ...

When Did We Stop Getting Credit For Standards? - Sm
Jan 06, 2010

Last night I did two fairly long duplex studies where the doctor says "use my standard" with a lot of "move this, take that out, insert this..."  Not difficult, but time consuming.  When I went in to look at my line count after my shift, I got a total of 20 lines for the two reports, or 16.48 cents!  What gives with this?  Did I miss the memo, or did they just not tell us?  Next week they'll be asking us to pay them when we actually get work. :o( ...

After my worst day in a long time or maybe ever, I noticed DQScribe was weird when I tried to log out.  Sure enough I checked later and didn't get credit for my last job.  Don't know if it went back into the pool or on through to the customer for free.  I hate this stupid company. ...

Can And Should Lousy Credit Prevent Someone From Getting An MT Job?

Anybody Else Out There Using Credit Cards To Live On???
May 17, 2014

Had an excellent job until hospital outsourced 5 years ago, downhill from there.  Paycheck for the last 2 weeks was $88.  I bet over in India they made more than me even with 35 years exp.   I have tried so hard to get credit cards paid down or off, but then we have to use them for buying gas to heat house, buy groceries, buy gas, etc.  I would have nver thought I would be in such a mess like so many of us at my age.   Major back disability and surgery, have not been to ...

Credit Report And Coding Jobs
Jul 05, 2013

I have to file bankruptcy in the next month or so. There's no way around that. I am also going to be starting a coding program. A lot of coding employers do a credit check.  I guess I'll finish coding school in a year or so, so by that time, after building back up my credit, will the bankruptcy not matter so much to future employers? ...

Missing Credit For Straight Transcription Typing
Mar 18, 2011

Does anyone seem to be missing credit for straight transcription typing.  I keep meaning to keep track of the straight transcription reports I type compared to ASR even though they are very few and far between, but I swear, every time I do get them, when I review my counts, it seems like some of them are missing.  I am going to try to keep better track of them.  Surely Medquist wouldn't stoop THAT low to cheat us . . . or would they?? ...

Anyone Else's Job Getting More Difficult
May 27, 2015

My account went to Epic, not the first time I've lost an account to Epic, so I should be used to this by now.  All these little partial dictations of a couple lines or less makes it extremely hard to get a decent line count/make money (!). That, in addition to no punctuation and apparently the speech rec engine has to start "learning" the dictators all over again.  It's just horrible.  Words of support or encouragement desperately needed. ...

Difficult Dictation

Can someone please advise how to handle one physician in practice who mumbles and rambles?  I believe someone has spoken to him before, but it has not gotten better.  I have many years of experience, but must leave many blanks in his dictation.  This is very frustrating and time consuming for me.  Thanks ...

Difficult To Understand...
Aug 02, 2011

How Difficult Is Andrews?
May 03, 2015

I am an MT, I am 51, I haven't been in school for over 30 years.  I know there was a discussion below about being too old to start school.  But I wonder from the MTs who did this in their 50s, did you have trouble with the work?  I am not stupid, I don't feel that I am too old, but I am afraid that I won't be able to do it.  Just wondered if anyone else felt the same way.  Please no comments about if I don't think I can do it, I won't be abl ...

How Difficult Is An Online MT School?
Dec 23, 2009

I'm seriously considering enrolling at one of the "top two" MT online schools.  I'm good at English grammar, spelling, type over 100 wpm with 98% accuracy, a perfectionist, and am also very focused.  I do have a full-time job, but can easily devote evenings and time on the weekends to complete the course.  I'm up for a challenge, but after doing quite a bit of research, this sounds really difficult.  Feedback please! ...

FTR...highly Difficult Dictator
Mar 15, 2010

First day for me beginning FTR.  Started out very well, no markers, then BOOM!!.....right into one of the most difficult doctors.  Ugh!  This is one we discussed in our "conference call" for FTR.  This is frustrating because we were told that it does not matter how difficult the dictator is, there will be no exception as to sending anything to QA.  I'm sitting here with about 8 blanks yet to fill...unsure what to do. First time to post on this board, but I've ...
