missing credit for straight transcription typing - vamt

Does anyone seem to be missing credit for straight transcription typing. I keep meaning to keep track of the straight transcription reports I type compared to ASR even though they are very few and far between, but I swear, every time I do get them, when I review my counts, it seems like some of them are missing. I am going to try to keep better track of them. Surely Medquist wouldn't stoop THAT low to cheat us . . . or would they??

here is what I do - sm

I write down every job number, doctor name and report type:
1. 1234567890- Dr. Doctor (DS)
2. 0987654321- Dr. Dentist (OP)
3. 1122334455- Dr. Chewer (HP)

Then, if it is a transcription job, I highlight the number (1, 2, 3,) only.

At the end of the day when I do my line counts, I can see exactly what I did, and how it was credited. That way, if I did a transcription job that was credited as ASR, I can give the CCM the job number and have it changed.

Just curious, do you ever find many mistakes in their counts?

and it was fixed right away when I reported it.

I am just so used to doing it now, which also helps if I have a report with a problem, I highlight the whole thing so I can report that, or if it went to QA so I know how much is going to them.

Okay, I have had the suspicion that MQ programmed something when you bring up old reports when typing a discharge summary that the H&P doesn't show up. Today, the dictator doing the DS plainly stated that she was reading right off the H&P. I went to check in the old reports to maybe get some quick lines, but it wasn't there...as usual. Got new accounts for the last 2 weeks that are not ASR (yet) so have been doing about 90% straight typing. I have been averaging about $20 more per day than when I do ASR. They can sell whatever snake oil they want, I can type faster and make more money straight typing than I can with their much-touted fabulous ASR --- EVEN ON BRAND NEW UNFAMILIAR ACCOUNTS. ...

Hmm, let's see. We get a letter from MQ extolling our virtues as MTs, more and more info about nationalizing the EMR with Verizon, etc. and I notice I'm not the only one getting less ASR, more direct typing. I have a pretty good and accurate typing speed, which has made me pretty good money in the past. Then along comes VR. I have had somewhat success with it, if the right dictation is placed on it. The problem comes in when a company tries to put anything and everything on VR that does not belong there. It defeats the purpose of using it in the first place. I used to love my job, being an at-home medical transcriptionist. I used to make around $20-25 an hour straight typing and thought being an at-home medical transcriptionist was the best job ever!
