Anyone work Monday to Thurs schedule?? - FloridaMT

Just wondering if any Nuance MT's work M-Th and have Friday, Sat and Sun off? I have been with Transcend 11+ years and want to work four 10 hour days and really don't see a problem with it, so just wondering if anyone else does this. I have been working M-F but want to change. I also have a cousin who was with Nuance before they bought Transcend, her dad had lung cancer and was dying and she asked to change her schedule to accomodate his chemo treatments, etc., and they actually said NO! Such a shame, to not work with an employee in their time of need. She abruptly quit and found another company shortly thereafter who she is happy with. Guess I am thinking the same thing if I am turned down after typing my fingers off and being loyal for 11+ years! Any thoughts? Thanks!

Come on... we all want that schedule. I wouldnt see a problem with it either, HOWEVER, hospitals are not only open Monday through Thursday!

Ummm, I am not the only MT on my accts. I am sure they can find coverage for one day of the week. If not, I know what I am going to be doing very soon, especially after reading the Nuance negativity on these boards. Tired of typing my fingers off for a company who is going to no longer care because they got eaten up by GREED!!

I used to work for the dreaded Nuance, was an ex-Webmedx employee. I used to work M-Thur and Friday mornings, which was no problem when it was Webmedx and even when my Webmedx supervisor was still with Nuance, but when he left the new sup or whatever they call them now, MLS, made everyone start to work a weekend day. I picked 4-hour on Frida and 4-hour on Saturday mornings. Well, that wasn't good enough for her after about 2 weeks, even though she said it was okay in the beginning. I got a whole week's reprieve with this schedule because of my mom's medical problems before the MLS made me work a complete weekend day. I went to an overnight shift for the weekend to be available. I think I worked that for a month and eventually found another job and quit the horrid company. I am very happy in my job now.

I certainly do hope you Transcenders fair better than we Webmedx peeps did, but I am so very sad to say I doubt it. It will be okay for awhile and then just like the Borg from Star Trek, will be assimulated completely. I do wish you the best of luck though.

Mon-Thurs, what about weekends. Maybe that is why - India has the work. Everyone wants M-F sched.

Yep start looking now because MLS are dime - a dozen at Nuance. Usually req 1 wkend day.

it seems pretty much everyone is required to do 1 weekend day at least, but just ask your TL -- mine helped me get a pretty nice split shift schedule I was hoping for -- 7/3 hours on sun through wed.

Got rejection E-mail for in-house job I applied for. Then less than 1 hour later, got rejection E-mail for a government clerk position I had applied for like 2 months ago. I have always gotten paid time-and-a-half for holiday pay on the Fourth of July, which is one of Medquist's holidays (or so it is listed as and always has been), and was told by CCM we would be paid time-and-a-half for that Monday's work done since even though it wasn't the fourth, it is when it is nationally celebrated. It means that if you do ACH you get your pay 9 days after you should have gotten your pay. Think about what that means for your bank account versus what it means for their bank account. questions I want to ask. I usually ask about direct deposit, but in light of my recent experience of constantly being paid late (and still not paid!), I am thinking about asking them if they have had or are having any pay issues, but then I wonder if that might be an offensive question to ask, plus if they do not pay on time or at all, it is doubtful that they would say yes, so ....... They keep telling us "work is light". "It's a holiday". (Well, I guess somewhere in the world, it might be a holiday.) If work is REALLY that light, how on earth is this company staying afloat?
