Got rejection E-mail for in-house job I applied for. Then less than 1 hour later, got rejection E-mail for a government clerk position I had applied for like 2 months ago. Then later get E-mail with spreadsheet from supervisor with our lines, average lph, percentages, etc. Apparently there really are people doing 200-300+ lph. There is no way in the world they are typing the level 3 ESL and ASR nonsense that I get. I have to listen, research, listen again with my ESL filter on, proofread, and finally send hopefully correct with less than 3 blanks. I am struggling so hard with no end in site apparently.

So flamers -- hold your fire. I have applied elsewhere. Am going after work to buy lottery tickets I guess as that is my only hope out of this he*llhole.

I'm sorry and I know how you feel. I actualy got to do something different/fun today on my day off and it was such a huge relief from worrying about my job 24/7. I actually spent 4 whole hours where my cheek and eye didn't twitch. I hope and pray things turn around.

That doesn't even sound real to me. I know what you mean, though. In the good old days, I was rocking 250 and thought I was setting the world on fire. Now with the ESR, bad audio, jumping from facilty to facility, and dictators that I KNOW are not speaking English, I am lucky to barely squeak out my minimum. I too would like to know what kind of work someone is getting to pull 300 lph. Heck, it must be better than what I am getting, which is NJA most of the time, lol. Oh, I might be able to get close if I never checked my work or proof read it or just made stuff up. Maybe that's the key, but I just can't bring myself to do that. Anyways, good luck to you :)

She tries to motivate him by embarassing him and shaming him, thinking that that will somehow make him get better grades. It just makes him give up because he knows he will never make her happy. I think we finally have made him realize that it doesn't matter what the teacher does or says, he has to be the one to motivate himself.

Just remember at 200 lph at 4 cpl that is only $8 an hour, not something for the CCM or any MT to be bragging about for sure. Barely minimum wage in most states. And at 300 lph which is $12 an hour really truly a pathetic wage for the knowledge and experience the non-newbies bring to MQ.

Every time they send an email for incentive or OT I always fire back an email saying, what my 40 hours are not good enough? I refuse to let them make me feel that somehow I am inferior or inadequate and neither should you. If you punch out at the end of the day knowing you did your best that is anyone can ask of you. Hang in there.

twice all day and still just barely scraped out 1200 lines or 150 lph. I just don't get it. I type as fast as the keyboard will allow without bursting into flames. I just can't do any better on these stupid accounts -- a bunch of which just went live on Monday so I have never heard these folks in my life - one right after the other, most not English, of course. Jeeze.

I know you feel you've let everyone down and I hated those production reports at WMX. It always made me feel like they were "comparing" me (which they were) to others. I finally just stopped looking at them. If your doing the best you can, that is all you can do. If they don't like it, that's their problem. You can't give any more than you have. I never got 1200 lines still don't so I don't make a lot of money. Been an MT for 30+ years, so I probably could, but my quality is there. I had to stop worrying about what others think. If I am doing the best I can, that's all anyone can ask for. CHEER UP! Your doing your best. I refuse and always have, to be "married" to my computer. I raised 2 kids alone so I know the struggles and I did my time busting my butt to put food on the table. I still struggle to help make ends meet, but I know I am doing the best I can WO having a nervous breakdown, although I still sweat a lot sometimes, but that is just me.

i don't even try to make a decent wage any more, because the stress of feeling like a machine is too much and the aches from being stressed while hitting the function keys and arrows, bringing arms up and back and up.....am hanging in there....woke up this morning feeling scared about the future....have been thinking about what to do....former coworker contacted me later in the day about an inhouse MT opening, but the place is AWFUL...the MTs are the greatest I ever worked with, but the boss drove me to quit before and the QA person nitpicks arbitrarily and so meticulous that there is never a perfect report she sees. The incentive has dropped precipitously there, and the hourly wage is about 12-13 which is not enough to pay the bills, but something....I don't think the old boss would rehire me to be honest because she trips with people and punishes almost everyone for taking time off and my family has health issues ongoing and old age...thanks for listening...know how you feel (somewhat)...but the thought of figuring out what to take in school or getting a different job makes me feel happy again....keep on...you will find your way out....

not alone that's for sure! I had a day of pounding this keyboard for 6 hours without even a bathroom break and barely got my minimum lines in. I don't know what is up because this was my primary and not too bad of an acct. I'm actually wondering if the line counts have been messed with???? Good luck in your job search. I am sure better days are coming;)

I work for DSG and all I EVER get are the WORST ESL dictators ever!!! I havent even gotten my 1000 lines per day yet and I have been there almost 3 months now. They gave me a secondary account, but it has ALL ESL dictators too. My pay has dropped in half. Twice the work for half the pay. I am only averaging 600-800 lines per day.

I have always gotten paid time-and-a-half for holiday pay on the Fourth of July, which is one of Medquist's holidays (or so it is listed as and always has been), and was told by CCM we would be paid time-and-a-half for that Monday's work done since even though it wasn't the fourth, it is when it is nationally celebrated. I have an interview on Monday to work at a local veterinary clinic doing transcribing full time in house for animal patients. No joke, they have 17 doctors on staff and supposedly a ton of work. It means that if you do ACH you get your pay 9 days after you should have gotten your pay. Think about what that means for your bank account versus what it means for their bank account. It is significant when multiplied by hundreds of employees. It means much worse if you get an actual check in the mail. ...

questions I want to ask. I usually ask about direct deposit, but in light of my recent experience of constantly being paid late (and still not paid!), I am thinking about asking them if they have had or are having any pay issues, but then I wonder if that might be an offensive question to ask, plus if they do not pay on time or at all, it is doubtful that they would say yes, so .......
