Okay, somone answer me this. If so many people were fired and/or laid off, where are all the jobs today? I'm sitting here with no job, so apparently the laid off/firing did not work as thought.

Although the companies will make all kinds of other excuses because they don't want you to file for unemployment, or they are scrambling to get more accounts and want to keep their good people.

My prediction has always been that there will be so much malpractice resulting from VR errors that are not edited by us that there will be lawsuits, insurance rate hikes, and maybe, just maybe the health care industry will see the error of there methos to try to save money by eliminating our position, but I won't count on it. They are slow learners and never question the source that knows before making their decisions.

Remember a few months ago the news story about someone dying because of an incorrect dose of a diabetes drug and everyone trying to blame the overseas company for the error? Yesterday, I was editing medications and the draft showed a diabetes drug dosage of 80 mg. As I listened to the dictator, he said 8 to my ears but wasn't crystal clear, a little stumble on his part. I double checked on Google and the dosage of 8 was correct. Here's the thing. If I was trying to be a speed demon (like they seem to want us to be) and did not take the "fingers off keyboard time" to check, I could have missed this. If I didn't have the years of experience I have and knew this needed to be verified, it could have been missed. Unfortunately for me $$$ wise, I don't speed through edit drafts, especially med lists. I can see this easily happening again and again with the demands they place on us. So, I agree that the hammer will fall one way or another at some point in time. It's bound to.

I recently changed my health care to Kaiser and have observed first hand and for the first time, the use of electronic medical records; they really are of immeasurable assistance to each provider who is treating the patient. I just ran into a local job already, MOWING GRASS. The lady's lawn mowing man just finished school and is quitting the mowing. Most postings are about how horrible the industry is and how impossible it is to get a job. I haven't been getting a second resevered job for quite some time and was wondering if I was the only one. I have told my manager and she said she would fix it about 2 months ago. It really stinks because after I complete a job it throws NJA at me. If I let if search for jobs long enough it will find me one. offered the same amount of money that they make in India now so that evens out the playing field. Seems that way anyhow. It seems they are either extremely low CPL or full of ESLs that means you also cant make any money.
