I just ran into a local job already, MOWING GRASS. The lady's lawn mowing man just finished school and is quitting the mowing. She paid him $1400 last month to mow, run the weedeater, keep weeds out of the flowers, etc. ($25 an hour).

My husband does handyman work and is always being asked to mow or if he knows anyone. He hates it. I like it. I think I just might take this on. (Probably for less money, though. She thought that was too much, but the guy needed it, raising kids, going to school, personal friend, etc.)

Went on vacation and walked a lot. Blood sugar was fabulous, sleep was better. I think what we do is hazardous to our health (physical and mental). I think we should have gone into construction or be mail carriers or something else!

MOWING LAWNS - MT

I think you have a great idea there. I live in a rural area and it's really difficult to find someone dependable to mow my lawn for me. I imagine I'm not alone. In fact, there are people who actually advertise here, looking for someone to care for their lawns. Older people can't do it for themselves and will often move just because they can no longer care for their homes like they used to, and can't find someone else to do it.

I say, if you are dependable and provide good customer service, while charging reasonable rates, you will have a winner there, at least for the warm seasons of the year. In the winter, well, maybe you will grow your business to include helping to clear snow out of driveways or possibly an errand service. I say, find a need and fill it. If I were younger, I'd go for it, too.

I'm thinking of starting a mom's time out service, babysitting for 2-4 hours at a time, at their homes, for age infant to five only. I don't want to do a daycare thing where I'm pinned to the house for 12 hours a day, but just an occasional thing.

I do dog sitting in my home for extra money while sitting here doing nothing, waiting for work to come in. Good company, good money. I can take them if I want or not. I can only have 4 at a time in city limits, but found that 3 at a time is good. We are in a small town so everyone knows everyone else, and usually the "parents" don't mind having another one or two with their "baby" as long as it is okay with me. Usually it is. I have 14 different ones now that are regular visitors, and there is only one I have to say we don't see eye-to-eye, but that is pretty good I think. I can always say no, but they are usually so good. I have one right now that needs to go out, and I have no work.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your experience with the dog sitting. I find that there are many links available online regarding this type of business, and I'm thinking of doing it.

I haven't been getting a second resevered job for quite some time and was wondering if I was the only one. I have told my manager and she said she would fix it about 2 months ago. It really stinks because after I complete a job it throws NJA at me. If I let if search for jobs long enough it will find me one. offered the same amount of money that they make in India now so that evens out the playing field. Seems that way anyhow. It seems they are either extremely low CPL or full of ESLs that means you also cant make any money.
