What's more stressful to you, the actual being out of work situation (sm) - broke

or all the steps we need to take when it occurs and being expected to continue to check and/or having to make-up the time? I received a "reminder" for Out of Work steps just last week that was different than the last 4 or 5 recieved since September or October (who can remember anymore??). How is it a reminder if they are once again different than the last OOW Steps email???

accommodate them when we are out of work. Shouldn't it be the other way around? We were hired to work and it's not our fault when there is no work. I have not received the first email about the out of work steps changing either. I am going to continue to do like I have been doing. I cannot make up work during my off time period! I spend enough time sitting at this computer waiting for work!

Im not buying the excuse of MLK holiday either. The clinics were not closed for 2 days for this. Either the clinics went to epic, or they lost a lot of accounts. Either way, another round of layoffs is about to happen or the 99.7% accuracy will get rid of us quickly.

I think they hired too many people...and gave bonuses for hiring on! Now no work for us loyal ones that have stuck this out for years. No appreciation at all from them for the hard work we do. They could care less about us.

I didn't receive this excuse from anyone. My accounts are always plentiful unless there is a storm back east, then we come almost to a halt. I've been around a long time, I know how my work load fluctuates and what is a "corporate" excuse and what is the reality. I think it is hilarious that some of you think you are smarter than anyone else.

because some of us were treated so differently. I had over 40 years experience when I retired. I was moved around so many times to so many difficult accounts there was no way I could ever have done that. I could get to 300 occasionally but usually when I got to that point, I got switched again. There would be so many corrections on each and every line not even Superwoman could have gotten to 500 lph.

No, no one is "better" than anyone else ... you can do it too. Anyone can if you remove any distractions, work on your shortcuts/macros, etc and stay focused.

And if you run out of work, request to work on another BOB ... and another ... and another. When I run out of work my TSM knows I'll work on just about any account that has work ...and that I won't take no for an answer. I'm a single mom and this is my one and only form of income ... I have 2 choices: Do whatever work is available or be homeless. My income and livelihood depend on my own initiative.

Yes a lot of it is drive, skill, and concentration. - But a lot depends on the type of work.

My LPH has shot up to nearly 500 one day for a glorious couple of hours when I was getting a certain dictator, who I adore for his even, predictable dictating style and extensive collection of standards.

But other than that, if I get my more common clinic work, no matter how hard I try, no matter how hard I concentrate and use my expansions wherever possible, I can only manage just shy of 300. There is just too much editing a single word here and there, disrupting any kind of flow. I don't consider myself an unskilled or inexperienced transcriptionist but 300 LPH is about as good as I can normally aim for.

OK so .... emergency rooms and doctors' offices stop seeing patients even if it's the middle of flu season because there's a few inches of snow on the ground? The visual I'm getting is of the entire emergency room staff playing tic-tac-toe or Words With Friends drinking coffee with absolutely NOTHING to do because there's snow on the ground so no one comes to the emergency room because no one is hurt or sick.

It just makes me laugh that anyone on earth would believe the ridiculousness that MModal spoon feeds about why there is no work.

I just ran into a local job already, MOWING GRASS. The lady's lawn mowing man just finished school and is quitting the mowing. It really stinks because after I complete a job it throws NJA at me. If I let if search for jobs long enough it will find me one.
