types of jobs done by Tier 2 vs Tier 3 - just wondering

Hello All,

Trying to find a list of types of jobs done by the diffient tier levels. Anyone have a list such as this or know where I can find one?

As far as I remember, Tier 3 gets everything that Tier 2 gets, plus op notes and procedure notes.

Tier 1 does clinic/office visit notes only
Tier 2 does H&P, discharge summaries, emergency room, consultations - all specialties
Tier 3 does all the above tier 2 types plus operative and procedure notes - all specialties

Tier 2 and 3 are Acute Care

Well, now I know. Sometimes I ask myself "Why do I have to get these operative notes and procedure notes and cardiac cath reports?" Because I am Tier 3, that's why.

Please send them my way. I'm Tier 3 and decorum will not - allow me to tell what I get.

I am tier 1. I do tier 1 and tier 2 work. Actually, I do everything except op notes, but choose not to test up for tier 2 work officially.

I'd much rather to ops than cardiac caths, but you haven't done anything if you haven't done GENETICS. We've gone from "FLK" syndrome in the 1970s to 22q1bdel2.12

I did everything from clinic to operative notes/procedure notes, yet was rated as a Tier 1. Guess I know why. I figured I was getting ripped off with the tier thing too, not only getting pay cuts, but by keeping me classified as a lower level they could justify paying me less. However, one of the last Emails I received after hearing of my account of 10+ years (going away - probably to overseas) was inviting me to try for a higher level - but stated it might not mean an increase in line rate--- HUH!!! I had been reading the writing on the wall since Spheris was bought by MQ, but this time it was in "John Deere Green." At that point I didn't need a rock to fall on my head to help me make my final decision!

Do you type ALL work types, including tier 1 and tier 2, correct? My CCM implied that tier 3 does ONLY operative reports?? I'm tier 2 and I think I would like to try OP reports, as I've been tier 2 for quite a while. Don't want to NOT do consults and H&Ps though. This really sucks because those reports have the highest line counts, while Tier 3 does all the testing reports such as cardiology, eeg, cath reports, and surgeries. While straight typing pay may be higher for Tier 3, everyone makes the same for VR. My vent for the day. Sorry if I offended anyone. ...

What might be happening is MM is keeping high producing Tier 3 employees and India will get all the easier work. Tier 3's in America will do the hardest dictations and worst dictators. The MME's in America will then be correcting more work because India will be doing everything else. Just trying to figure out what is going on. I hit the ceiling last week and quit after 12 years with MQ part-time. I started as a tier 3 and ended as a tier 3. Topped out. I was making close to $20/hr and ended at $10/hr thanks to ASR. I work for another MTSO too that doesn't have the tier system. I get just whatever report comes into my job pool from clinic to ops. I've been at MQ for about 3 years now. CCM keeps wanting me to tier up to tier 3 so I can start doing the ops notes because we don't have enough 3s right now. However, I won't get a raise by tiering up. I took the Tier 3 test and passed. I don't know what my actual score was, but I have a phone interview later this week, and I was wanting to get an idea of what to expect as far as working at M*Modal. Has anybody ever passed the tier 2 test?? This is my second attempt at passing it and it seems impossible. You can't slow the transcription. You can't understand the words before and after the privacy tones. It's like they don't want you to pass, succeed, and reach a higher level. My regular work reports are easier to do than anything on that test, even the ESL doctors! ...

Just wondering if it is worth it to test up to tier 3 or not.
