Wow! The actual VP of the company wants us to do overtime this week! I thought for sure with that AWESOME incentive we had over the weekend that there would be absolutely no work this week!

Its nice to want - but I aint doing it

Sorry Charlie or whatever your name is, we tried that mandatory OT before and there was no work that time either.

I refuse to live for this job,they dictate when they want you to do the OT - Not like I can sign on whenever

there are messages mandatory OT,,but we are slim pickings this morning so you can work later on..Well I DONT WANT to work later on, I have plans...so over this place..I do my 40 hrs, if there is 40 hours of work and dont look back

Dont get me wrong if I thought it was hurting my fellow MTs - I would do the OT

but it isnt,,in actuality it is hurting them because they pull this all hands on deck crap because things are going out of TAT (and then they lose their bonus),,Everyone comes out of the woodwork cause there is a chance for extra money,,,and then the work runs out and some of the others lose money...

My motto is "I dont live to work, I work to live." It is NOT our problem TAT times are absolutely ridiculous and it is up to us, besides being perfect, to be responsible for the workload? Gimme a break!

I work second shift, so, due to the time change from PST to CST, after 10 pm my time, the last hour of my shift shows up as the next day. I know when I call in to have work assigned (OT accounts) they always ask what kind I want. I usually just tell them "Whatever" and they confirm I do all work types, say thank you and away we go. Now I am wondering. Seems like after we have had OT on my accounts the next day there is a MUCH higher than normal ratio of crappy dictators. Not only cut in pay, it seems like the OT is no longer time and a half. I can't believe the amount of money I have lost. Anyone know how they figure overtime?? Could the suits be so devious as to require mandatory overtime so it temporarily boosts income so they look like they are paying a living wage? Or is there just a supply/demand problem?
