not sure, but last year for six months I was on an account that had mandatory overtime of an hour a day; didn't like it at times, but boy I miss the money this year.

Which region? Gotta get their TAT. I think even TSMs live in fear of this company. Bet they'll be laying off some of them in the future. First they'll change their titles and "reorganize" and a bunch of others will be let go. BUT so today THEY NEED EXTRA HELP! The morons didn't think that would happen. There are not enough words to describe the poor management of this company. This company can be used as an example (in business schools) of "how not to run a company" or "sure ways to ruin a company and the morale of its workers," I can go on. You know what I mean.

I might be tempted to remind that TSM of this phrase: "Failure to plan on your part does NOT constitute an emergency on mine!" So perhaps the supervisors should jump on there and clean up that work... oh that's right, they CAN'T!!! Just don't "get" the mandatory OT email - their crappy system goes down all the time, very plausible response. Good luck. I will NOT work OT for this place, they are lucky I work my shifts at all!

People were complaining when NJA happened and now complaining about OT.
Myself, I am going to take all the OT I can get as it provides me more money. the holidays are coming up and work will be lean.

Don't mean to anger anyone but just my thought (s). We all have to do what we do to survive.

I do not begrudge anyone working OT, and you are right, better more than less work for us all. The problem is the nasty DEMAND we work it, but when we have no work they do NOTHING for US!!! They can sit and spin on their "Mandatory" anything.

They could word it or present in a better light but doubt that will ever happen. They are probably never going to do anything for us so I have given up on that. Just going to take from them when I get the chance.

I am sure there are enough people who will jump at OT if it was offered, can't see why they would need to make it mandatory. I myself miss the OT in my pay and would gladly do it...not to help them but for the chance at a better paycheck for once!

Could the suits be so devious as to require mandatory overtime so it temporarily boosts income so they look like they are paying a living wage? Or is there just a supply/demand problem? I am sick of "mandatory" overtime! I know I should not complain b/c alot of you MTs out there are out of work and would gladly trade, so I hear ya there, but we are not notified of this OT until midday or at the end of the day, especially on Fridays, and we are not asked to work OT. I work second shift, so, due to the time change from PST to CST, after 10 pm my time, the last hour of my shift shows up as the next day. I worked 1.5 hours this morning and then my regular 2:30-11 pm shift, so I figure I should be paid for 1.5 hours overtime, but my calculated time (I recently discovered this on the current time card page) shows me as only getting credit for 0.5 hours overtime with 8 RT (Regular time) + 0.5 OT hours showing up on Sunday and then 1 hour showing up on Monday as ...

I know when I call in to have work assigned (OT accounts) they always ask what kind I want. I usually just tell them "Whatever" and they confirm I do all work types, say thank you and away we go. They dont "over-hire" for our area. But definitly behind; logged on this morning to do a couple extra hrs before my shift this evening and was getting stuff from yesterday. ...
