been running out of work consistently (about 3 days a week). Turned in my notice Friday. Had plenty of work yesterday. Ran out today and guess what? They assigned me a new account. Why couldn't they have done that weeks ago when I was running out of work so much? Kinda' crazy!

If I have to bounce, I say everyone bounce! If you get 1 or 2 accounts, I should get ONLY 1 or 2 accounts.

Every time I finish and send a new report, I absolutely DREAD getting the next one because I know that will mean having to open up just ANOTHER client profile which takes *mountains of time* to look it over and see if the doctor that just came up has any special instructions, specs, etc. I spend at least 5 full minutes between reports trying to acquaint myself with the account specifics, all the work type instructions and the dictator specs. It makes me want to SCREAMMMM. I would give anything â�¦ and I mean anything â�¦ to have just one or two accounts. I used to, a long time ago. Where have those days gone? I want them back. I made $52 today and I've been with this company for 14 years. I've had 100% QA scores on my last four reviews. Why do they treat their best and most loyal employees this way?

I want to know why I have to bounce and other people don't. Can't they just give me a break once in a while so I can earn a livable wage a couple of days a week? I'm sick of it. SOOOOO SICK OF IT.

I've never worked for MQ and in fact I'm a new MT working on one account for an MTSO. Even with my limited experience, if I worked FT I could probably make $52 in a day and I'm slow because I'm so new! That's strictly because I do a lot of the same doctors and I don't have difficult account standards. You have been LOYAL but it sounds like Medquist is not the same company you started with.

They either have no business plan anymore, or a very DUMB one.

You don't have to be loyal to them; they obviously aren't being loyal to their seasoned MTs. I doubt they pay any attention to you or your history with them. How could they and treat you like that?? Is there anyone even there to advocate for MTs like you?

I hope you find greener pastures soon. They shouldn't have you.

I agree. That is $6 an hour AND it sounds like it's stressful. Why are you staying? With 14 years of experience I'd be applying applying applying everywhere. I can't see how you could be worse off than you are now.

I know she came from the eTrans buyout, as did I. We did not have just 1 account though. We were on a pool system, so there would be maybe 3 or 4 hospital accounts and a couple clinic accounts that we drew from. And you are right, 1 account would be pretty great!

Just in my own area, I do over 14 hospitals and cant even count the clinics. Try that on for size.

I don't think there is a hospital, psych facility, clinic or doctor office that Medquist has on the books that I haven't done work for. Literally, it's dozens a day and it's probably never been the same one twice. I've heard every imaginable accent, and even a few UNimaginable ones too, from every corner of this country and even in the middle. I never know what facility is going to come up next in my queue, it could be one from Key West, Texas, California or Washington.

It's the most miserable existence at Medquist there is. You do all the reject reports that everyone else skips over, for half the money - literally.

"common" work pool. I have to log in and out of a voicewave player for 5 of those 8 or 9 accounts and that's take too much time.

I just got offered a new job with a local transcription company. I'll be making more money, no set hours, get the work done when I want to get it done as long as it is done by the next day. The interviewer actually looked at me confused saying "if you are getting paid by productivity, why do you have set hours to work?" I am currently per-diem with a company that requires per-diems to work 2 holidays a year and we have to phone in to beg for work (0.7 cpl) BUT we are not included in any bonuses or the holiday gift card because we are only per-diems. Upon asking (for a low/high range) I was told I have to test first. I've been this route before only to have wasted my time being offered something like 6 or 7 cpl for an IC position. A few days ago I got back a warning message from my company stating that the doc had keyed in the wrong medical record number, but did say that patient's correct name.
