First of all, at least 95% of the management that runs KS is ALL family. For being there 9 years, you better check more of your facts, as I know for a fact that there are cousins, nieces, sister-in-law, sisters, brother-in-law, just off the top of my head. If you knew what you were looking for, you CAN find out how much they make. Maybe you should try polishing up your research skills.
You can say what you want, but I know better. People can choose to believe me or not believe me; that's on them! I'm not the only one who knows it, either.

but they're not. That's what I said before... one thing to hire family and friends when they can do the job and do it well, another thing to hire them and they stink at the job. I know MTs are happy there and I'm happy for them. BUT... the account and the manager is what makes that job, plain and simple. My manager and my account are one of the poor ones. When I started with KS I was on a great account but they screwed that up and lost it to another MTSO. What is a shame that us MTs on that account weren't surprised at all. I'm making nothing now and the health insurance is ridiculous. Their dental and vision insurance is halfway decent tho.

Management lost our account as well. It was WONDERFUL! The MTs did a great job and had nothing to do with the account going elsewhere.

The HR manager and recruiter passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening. I had talked to her about 4:00 and everything was good. Then I got the call in the morning. It's been a very sad time for everyone, and I feel very bad for those in the office that worked with her every day and have had to deal with this.

This has been evident this week with the death of the recruiter/HR person. I had no idea she was related to one of the leads. I am very saddened by her death, she was one of the few nice people I have dealt with at KS. So, she is gone, the lead is out for an indefinite time, and I am not sure who this lead is related to. However, the coordinator (or whatever she is called) for this account is also related to the owners - and she is awful. This coordinator is related to one of the IT guys, who is also terrible. The other IT guy was related to another lead, who has since left.

The HR manager passed away Thursday night. She was not related to the owners in any way, just worked at KS for a very long time. Her sister was also an MT at KS and was promoted to lead and then over time to coordinator. Neither of them was or is related to the owners. None of them, the late HR manager, the coordinator or hte owner are related to any of the IT guys.
The person who posted earlier is correct, although I do not know why this is a big deal. The only relatives are the husband and wife that own Keystrokes, her sister is the accountant, his sister is a production assistant and her sister-in-law is the Director of Operations. There are 7 IT guys and 2 IT women. None of the them are related to anyone else within the company. There was one that was related to a coordinator who is no longer with Keystrokes, but both are no longer with the company. No one else is related except a few MTs are related to one another, no one else to the owner or any of the managers.
They are all really getting bashed here for no reason.
Why all the rumors and why does anyone care?

I rarely look at this site because of all the bashing. I looked at it a while back to find info about getting a job as I was laid off from a local hospital after 12 years of service. I logged on today just to see what is going on in our profession and I see this thread. A few unhappy folks will ruin the reputation of any company. That seems to be what is happening here again with KS. I am a KS MT and love my job....It is a perfect fit for me. And what does it matter if a company has relatives working for them. If I started a company I would want my family and friends working for me too....so whats the beef.....working for a company of relatives has nothing to do with what happened to you when you were an employee of KS, you probably just didnt follow the specs of your account......thanks for letting me get my 2 cents in.

I would have to agree with Rainbow Again. What does it matter if people are related in a company or not. I also work for KS and have a great account. They work with you when you have issues and/or problems. I would recommend KS to anyone. They are a great company to work for.

The Account Coordinator and former HR person, the Controller, owners, and another sister/sister-in-law, and I know of one lead, as well as many MTs that are family.
The MTs that are family isn't such an issue, but when you have all the big wigs being related, that's a problem. An employee's experience with KS depends who the "family" decides to attach themselves to. I've seen it over and over.

However, for the owner to send out questionaires to employees and urge honesty is fundamentally not honest. When you are commenting on problems you are having with owner's relatives/friends etc and they are the problem, how do you think things will work out?

The owner always states she has an "open door" to everyone if there are any problems.
Yeah, you are in the dark about them all being relatives, you go and state your issues with a manager, lead, etc., and then you find out they are actually FAMILY. What do you think gets done? Oh, it's nothing to the family member, but your days are then numbered, as it's then told to family member after family member.
These people can do what they want and there is no recourse if their procedures are wrong.
Example Given - They hired a QA Manager. Months after accepting the position, she receives a NEW QA standards guideline sent to her at the same time as all the MTs. This wasn't even discussed with her! She was the MANAGER for goodness sakes. It was a QA team member and an account coordinator who took it upon themselves to change the policy without even notifying her.
If you people don't think there's a problem with that, then there is something wrong with your thinking. Family pulls rank, PERIOD.

The QA Manager worked there for quite a long time as an employee and not management, but then once she saw how people/MTs were really treated, she wanted no part of KS.

They have a common last name but they are not related. They are both married to other people. The IT guy's wife, P, used to work under me. The PA was married over Christmas and announced it on FB.
I have not posted before, so not getting angry. I am just trying to help straighten out those who are talking without knowing what they are talking about.
