Re CCM approval for holiday time off...smg - Fossil

I read somewhere eons ago that approval (can't find it now) does not have to be given more than 7 days ahead. So, for Turkey Day, approval should have been given by yesteray. Approval for Xmas should be given by 12/18.

Nothing like leaving us all hang on hooks til they decide whether they need us or not!

I would think they could approve most of us ahead of time and then possibly let off a few more depending on volumes of work.

grant anymore PTO for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's?

I mean, if you hadn't put in a request yet, you're SOL. If you had already requested PTO (before the email was sent out), then what does she do? Pick and choose who will get the PTO and who won't? It isn't fair.

It's ridiculous. But then again, this company is ridiculous.

The so-called "policy" on asking for time off isn't - really a policy. (sm)

It's more of a suggestion or guideline.

They let the CCMs handle their own staffing for holidays so once enough people have asked off, they don't have to approve any more PTO requests.

Of all the MQ employees here scheduled to work on Saturdays, has anyone been approved to have off Christmas Day? I put in my request exactly 60 days ahead of time (since we can't do it before that) and have yet to hear anything. Before: average 10,000 lines of VR/week @0.413 per line = $413 PLUS weekly incentive averaging $100+/week = $513/week which I can live with. Here's the deal...my company says if/when you work a holiday, they will give you the equivalent hours in PTO to use later on (you work 8, you get 8 PTO).
