Ladies, ignore management trolls below. - sm

Posted: Mar 25, 2014

If you think management doesn't read the posts here you're wrong. That's the reason they have placed silly posts such as below about passing 99.9% audits and the other one below that.

They feeli it's best for morale. Their morale, not yours.

no troll here - sm

I'm just someone who likes being an MT and takes pride in doing a good job. I haven't failed any audits. I have no idea why you think that makes me a "management troll"...

Here either - MountainWoman

[ In Reply To ..]
I also make about $20 an hour, with 11 "primaries," maybe 1 typed report a week, 90% ESLs, and have never had less than a 99.98% audit. Just because some people cannot do it, does not mean it cannot be done.

You must have been nominated for M/MME of the year - How was Florida last year

[ In Reply To ..]
nm
just because you fail audits doesn't mean - we all do
[ In Reply To ..]
because there is no way people can possibly pass their audits consistently just because you don't *rolls eyes*

This is like the whole there's no way people make decent money doing this because I don't argument.
I never said I failed audits - Not in 10 years
[ In Reply To ..]
My question was if someone should have had such perfection, if they went to Florida as one of the top 10 MT/MMEs last year.

Curious, which camp are you? - CT

[ In Reply To ..]
There seem to be two schools of thought, slow and steady and double-time. What speed are you handling your ASR on? Some argue that you can earn more by proofing at normal speed and spot checking critical areas, whereas others would argue that flying through at an accelerated speed is more lucrative. Thoughts?
I go normal speed - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I make more money (about $16/hour) by going normal speed and proofing as I go. I'm also 99% sure that's why I pass my audits. I used to go double speed then proofread when I was done, and I would find soooo many mistakes. It wasn't saving me any time at all and it was shocking how many errors I would find. So now I go normal speed and don't have to do the report twice, which is also much less boring.
Questions - curious
[ In Reply To ..]
If you don't mind me asking, do you make 4, 5 or 6 for ASR to get that $16 an hour and also what is your line count per hour going at normal speed? Do you have template insertion material you use on a regular basis? The only way I can get 300-350 on the account I'm on, I've found, is to max out the speed and not proof after I'm done. I would really like to try this approach but am wondering if I'm in the same ballpark.
See if this no-proof bites me... - CT
[ In Reply To ..]
Trying the at-speed, proof as you go technique today. I'm up about 75 lph, but on pace with my normal shift production levels... I guess because I got a lot of QA today. So, we'll just have to see how this works out. I'll give it another 2 days and see how the rest of the week shakes out. This morning I was up over 400 lph, but that dropped as I got more QA full reads coming through this afternoon.
ONLY 99%???? - Diane King
[ In Reply To ..]
Mine was usually low of 99%. I was terminated last week.
Speed - MountainWoman
[ In Reply To ..]
Unless I have a particularly slow dictator, I generally keep my speed at 8. I wish I could be one of those people who can rev it up, but I'm not. When I go too fast, I wind up concentrating on words instead of context, and I tend to miss small words, like "he" when it should be "she."

I'm an MME and can tell immediately when someone has their speed fast, and probably shouldn't. It's things like "her medication" instead of "the medication" that get missed, and can ultimately fail an audit. While it doesn't change the meaning, if I know it's going to negatively affect my audit, it's not worth the extra 5 cents I'll make flying through.

I believe there are those who can handle it. I just know I can't. I've tried.

You "perfect" MT/MMEs - are jinxing yourselves

[ In Reply To ..]
BIG TIME by bragging on your perfection. Wait and see.
The "never fail" MTs - seem to think we CONSISTENTLY
[ In Reply To ..]
fail audits. Not true. We aren't talking about failing consistently. Some of us are talking about 1 out of 1000 reports audited that fails with the horrific score of 99.5%. Doesn't matter to this sorry company. The perfect MTs just haven't had the "right" report audited yet.

Or here. - nm

[ In Reply To ..]
Don't agree with they have to be management? No offense towards MTstars, but I wouldn't give this site that much credit. Same with the dislikes, people claim it's management disliking posts. I'm sorry, but I just think that's ridiculous.

I don't even work in a management, but between my job, family and personal life I would hardly have time to troll websites even if I wanted to and I'm sure people in management jobs are way more busier than I am

Different opinions/management - MountainWoman

[ In Reply To ..]
I would be willing to bet that those who always claim the people who succeed are management, are the same people who always failed tests because their teachers hated them, or whose team lost because the other team cheated.

any MTs left out there who haven't been burned BAD by what has happened to MT, what with VR, EMR, ever-lowering pay, fraudulent line counting practices, over-the-top expectations of productivity and accuracy. As any veteran MT will tell you, after trying every conceivable combination of speed, proofreading for accuracy, following the BOS to the letter, and keeping up to date on client specifics, it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to make $20/hour in MT anymore. Not at what they're paying. Not with their software. In order to make the kind of money these trolls claim to make, they'd have to be getting paid somewhere between 13-14 cpl. And we all know how likely THAT is.

Board's been rampant with them lately. UGH! - Damage control, no doubt! nm

They're probably working off the clock to produce high line counts - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
You can work up to 10% of your time off the clock and not get in trouble for it. That's how the high producers make the big line counts. Shhhhhh....

OMG that is SOOO UNTRUE - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
I don't even know where you're coming from with that. What are you even talking about? 10% off the clock? NEVER. Following this advice will earn you a ticket in the fast lane to the unemployment line. As much as I like this board, the downright dangerous misinformation that is sometimes stated here boggles my mind.

If a person worked 10% of their work time off the clock that would amount to *4* hours a week - or one full 8-hour day each pay period. Never. Depending on your TSM you *might* get away with a verbal warning the first time but no doubt about it working off the clock WILL get you fired.

And this ignorant tidbit of information came from where??? - nm

We get a statistical sheet every week showing - QA scores

[ In Reply To ..]
Out of about 100 MTs on my team, only 5 were under 99.7.

Of course this is just my TSM, no clue what happens elsewhere but our team seems to kick some serious booty on QA.

TOO MANY UNKNOWN FACTORS - Diane King

[ In Reply To ..]
I misread this.

How many of your team are experienced (10-30 year) veterans of MT?

Is that every day, every week, every month?

How many accts do each of your MTs have? To say we had 24 would not be exaggerating.

Watch Out For Nuance Nasty Board Trolls

an email recently for a "concerned" MLS - never, ever had that happen on this board until the posts went up about the DOJ, DOL and all the bogus "errors" the QCs are hitting us for.  Check out the posts saying "what do you mean bogus errors - can you be specific; I don't get it; what errors?"  What MLS working for Nuance does not understand what a "bogus error" by Indian QC is?  Work for Nuance for a nanosecond, and you know immediately  they dump on the MLS ...

The Scores On QC Reports Do Not Mean A Thing. You Can Ignore The Score,
Mar 01, 2015

The only thing that matters is the number of these you turn in in the first place. Take what useful correction from those, if there is any at all, and let the rest of it roll off. Do not stress out over these or attempt to reverse a QC score. As a matter of policy, they will never reverse anything on these, because the percentage score on them is meaningless. Only thing that matters is the number of them you turn in to begin with. Cutting down the number you submit is the only way to escape the ...

I'm a high producer and self starter. My Management Team Is Gone ... :(

The TSM and QC person I've worked with forEVVVVER in the west is gone, both of them being moved up into new positions, and dividing their accounts and the entire team of MTs/MMEs has been disassembled and moved to other areas.  I am *terribly* sad about this because they were both absolutely amazing to work for, but I'm glad that I'll be staying in the Western region.
