Is anyone else having trouble "upgrading" to - new email?

I have 2 computers I work on and neither one wants to work with it. So nice of Princess Amy to let us use our (unpaid) time to try to fix something that is messed up on their end.

Which New E-Mail - We Have 2 Options

If you're having trouble with that first option of Live Mail, try the second option, which is Ipswitch. Took me all of almost no time to get it going. It was mostly just a matter of filling in new e-mail address, there was no download/configuring nonsense.

Windows Live Mail or the one that says web[something] or something like that. It's called Ipswitch, but I don't know that is mentioned in the e-mail link. In any event, I'm pretty sure it's that second option on the e-mail.

I hate that email program. I use Thunderbird. - I also use their web mail.

Stinking thing with us have to upgrade is need a little bit of computer savvy to do it. Probably would have been a better idea to call support and make them do it remotely.

I often just use their MM Web Mail site. It was listed somewhere in all that how to upgrade stuff.

Thunderbird is free and made by the same group as Firefox. Just put the info from the set up email into the Thunderbird set up. The better thing about Thunderbird too is, when it automatically checks for new email, and if there is an email, it sends up a message on your tool bar. Much easier to use.

After several weeks of problems I called the help desk and the tech I spoke with said that Windows Live cannot keep up with the volume of e-mails we produce so he installed IPSwitch, which is working great. The only problem is you have to go out and check for e-mails, but it is much faster than Mmodal's intranet antique system that they gave us when they took away Outlook for themselves. I think it is disgusting that they think giving us a public e-mail system is a sign that they are investing in us. Quite the contrary - it is a sign that they don't want to invest in us. My CCM paid me for the time it took for me to get Windows LIve e=mail installed the first time (which took 1 hour and numerous calls until I found a tech that owned the problem and stuck with it until it was fixed). IPSwitch lets you create groups for sending e-mails, which is something I miss from Outlook. Unfortunately I have to rebuild my address book again from Mmodal's intranet since neither Windows Live or IPSwtich are linked to tHe Mmodal address book. Unfortunately, I can't get into Mmodal's e-mail program half the time either. Amazing they can do so well with SR technology yet they can't keep their employees connected.

exceeded my number of log-ins and I am locked out. This was after I called tech support to change my password. I know, it is shocking how something so simple they could have messed up so badly.

Keep IPSwitch Reduced on Screen - Do not have to log in and out-see msg

You don't have to keep logging in and out of Ipswitch. Just keep it reduced on your screen at the bottom and click it open however often you want. If there's new mail, there will be a red number next to the inbox, the red number being the amount of new e-mails, then you just click "check mail" and they'll download quickly. So, in other words, you'll know when you have new mail. There's no ding-dong, but you don't have to keep signing in and out.

My laptop crashed today and is now in the shop. I am trying to use our home desktop but can't get the files to completely download. All of the sudden, it is hung on the download screen. The box popped up saying "downloading job #xxxxxxxx. Getting job details." And then the log out button is below that. Explorer 8 on Medquist computer? They sent me a new computer because the fan went out in the old one and the new one had Explorer 8 on it.
