I recently accepted a position with a company because this company had supposedly obtained a huge account. After completing the paperwork, sending it back, training on the account and working for about 3 days, I was told that the account was lost. Now I am sat here for 14 to 16 hours a day trying to squeeze out lines from another account that about 60 MTs were placed on when the other account was lost. In 14 to 16 hours I am only able to do between 300 to 500 lines and I am almost to the point of desperation.

I am applying anywhere and everywhere that I can for both transcription and anything out of my house that I can find. Heck, I would be happy to work at the local Kroger if they were hiring.

If any of you know of some place that is hiring I would greatly appreciate an email. I am desperately searching the internet, applying anywhere and everywhere possible. I have over 24 years experience and this is the first time I have ever been without a job. I contacted my previous employer to see if I could return with them only to find that my position had been filled. It does not matter to me if it is IC, employee, part-time or full-time, I will be happy with anything at this point.

If you're not an IC, you can apply for UE. It might tide you over and stop you from sinking financially until you find something else.

They do corporate-type transcription (company meetings, that kind of thing) as well as medical, such as medical seminars. They pay by the word, which actually pays pretty good when you consider the seminars usually last a couple of hours. I worked for them a couple of years ago and they're always looking for people - if you need a reference, email me and I'll send you my name. I think the turn over rate there is pretty high because it's easy to burn out, but it should at least help you through until you find something else. I've been where you are - just keep your head up and something will come along :) Good luck to you!

All of the sudden, it is hung on the download screen. The box popped up saying "downloading job #xxxxxxxx. Getting job details." And then the log out button is below that. Explorer 8 on Medquist computer? They sent me a new computer because the fan went out in the old one and the new one had Explorer 8 on it. Now anything internet-based such as DocQmanage (client profiles, etc.) the text has letters that are different colors, making it very hard to read, and tech support cannot figure out how to fix it.
