Upgrading Tier Levels... - Breezy

Posted: Apr 12, 2012

I have been encouraged time and again to test for Tier level II.  Yes, I am Tier 1 and like my client and the work so want to stay here, but took a huge cut in pay and now my super says work will be shifting and I may not have work available.  Okay, so I took the Tier level II test TWICE--the first time with a bad attitude, but the second time I really took my time and still did not pass (scored 100% on the multiple choice and 96% on the transcription test)...I have been transcribing for about 20 years now and I would like to know how our India counterparts do on the testing/auditing...they work for less, granted, but then is their work tested/audited differently from ours?!  I would really like to know the skinny on this...

According to the - Book of Vern

There is absolutely no difference in our skills and the skills of our Indian counterparts; therefore, I am sure they are held to the same rigid quality standards as are we. We are one Happy Diverse Company. We are the World!
As quoted from the Tennessean interview 07/31/2011:
"What̢۪s the level of quality with the work sent overseas vs. work done here? Are there any barriers in terms of language?

There̢۪s no difference between the two. It̢۪s just a matter of we get more cost-benfit out of the labor pool in India. But we deliver the same quality of outcomes.

I expect to continue to see the trend increasing with offshore over onshore. What clients want today is the most cost-effective solution they can get, the highest quality they can get, and we present that solution to them. They have the option. We certainly are in a global marketplace.

One of the most successful characteristics of this company is knowing how to leverage global resources for the benefit of customers, our shareholders and employees."

Amen

I feel a heave coming on - huuuuuuaaaakkkkkkk

global marketplace - mt

It's sad that US employees are unable to compete in the global marketplace because of a different standard of living or different rate of exchange or whatever it is called. This seems so unfair! But I guess there is no solution.

Any idea how to unionize? - yea same quality my foot

I have friends in the field and cringe when they get their reports back from India..Hey you know what I just thought of this ASR crap is not ASR,,,it is the Indians transcribing for 3 C a line, us fixing their crap for 4 c a line and the company paying us below the normal transcription rate of 7-10 c a line..

Upgrading My RAM Any Suggestions
Apr 09, 2012

Hi:  I was hired last week but when they did the test on the computer I was 0.5 RAM shy of being able to sign paperwork.  I need to put in 1 more RAM for my computer to fit the profile. I have a friend coming over to help me pick out the RAM stick and put it in next weekend.  Are there any dos and don'ts for this? I do not want to mess this up, because this job means a lot to me and the recruiter is being patient in waiting for me to get my computer up to speed. Thanks in a ...

About Upgrading RAM To Enable Switch Of Windows 7
May 18, 2014

It was much easier than I thought -- but I ended up doing it myself because BestBuy didn't carry the two 1 GB "sticks" I needed, but did helpfully tell me what I needed.  Without naming companies, when I plugged what I needed into Amazon, manufacturer of the "sticks"'s website was mentioned to-make-sure you bought what you needed -- buffered/unbuffered (I have no idea what that means, but I needed unbuffered). That company has a downloadable scan that tells you exactly what you ...

OPS, Tier II Vs. Tier III: Let Me Break This Down For You...
Jan 28, 2010

You can call yourself an MT and work for: 1.  A single provider nonspecialist. 2.  A multiprovider/multispeciality clinic. 3.  A primary hospital. 4.  A secondary hospital. 5.  A TERTIARY hospital.   You can do "ops" with any of these jobs.  However, at a tertiary hospital you will have patients who have failed treatment at primary and secondary hospitals.  Tertiary hospitals are teaching and research institutions where you will encounter research p ...

Does Anyone Know Exactly How Many Levels
Dec 11, 2013

Of transcribing/editing a job goes through before making it back to the client?  For example, does it go overseas first and then back to us and we fix what they left behind? Or do we get the job first?  Who does the audits...an actual human or is it ran through some program first? I think a lot of what mm does is hidden from us.  Would not surprise me. ...

Serious Question Re Work Levels. (sm)
Apr 18, 2012

I've seen something mentioned on here about putting DEP after your username to check how much work there is in the system, and something about someone sending out reports of how much work there is... probably the CCM I guess. I'm newish and I have NEVER seen a report of how much work there is and the DEP thing doesn't work when I try it (it says contact my supervisor for permission). Is my CCM supposed to send out a report of available work? Does anyone know this for sure? I d ...

Have Not Biopsied, So I Do Not Know If He Has High S/l VAN Or VIC Levels

Patient has HIV and is status post acute kidney injury: He has had no evidence for cryoglobulinemia or hypocomplementemia.  It will be interesting to see what his protein has done with improvement in his HIV parameters.  As per previous notes, I have not biopsied him.  Therefore, I do not know whether he has a high s/l VAN, high s/l VIC, or whether this is diabetic related kidney disease.  However, it would not change his management at this time.   ...

You'd Think 2 Levels Of QA Would Make A Good ILP Report.
Mar 02, 2012

I just QAd an ILP report that I was only supposed to fill in the blanks, but I saw a major error near the blank, so I did a 100% review.  I found 32 errors, 17 of them were critical with missing phrases, words, and just plain making up what they thought they heard.  I checked the travel details of the report and it went through 2 levels of ILP QA before it got to me!  Why are we losing our jobs to them?  Oh, yeah, the suits make more money.  Never mind the patient with " ...

Tier Up
Oct 15, 2009

I was just informed that I HAD to tier up.  Has anybody else been told that one?  I don't want to tier up.  I don't get much NJA and I like the accounts I work on.  I was told that I MIGHT get a raise if I did, but there was no guarantee.  Why would I want to tier up without getting a raise doing the next tier's work?  I just don't get it and I never will.  ...

Tier 3
Apr 06, 2013

What might be  happening is MM is keeping high producing Tier 3 employees and India will get all the easier work.  Tier 3's in America will do the hardest dictations and worst dictators.  The MME's in America will then be correcting more work because India will be doing everything else.  Just trying to figure out what is going on. Also, I think MM had to do something about the no work situation, either get more accounts or layoffs.  They decided layoffs. Than ...
