HDSM on PTO for a Week!! - Victoria

Breathed a sigh of relief when I read that. It is so nice to know I will get a week's vacation from the useless e-mails -- now if only the PCs would take some time off. It would be such a huge relief to work through a week peacefully without holding my breath every time I hear the e-mail bing. I imagine my line count might actually increase.

She just usually sends the backlog 3 or 4 times a day; however, it is just a single number of how many jobs are in her BOB and means nothing to me. The HDSM who she replaced sent out backlogs also, but they were broken down by each hospital and group and gave me a much better idea of how much and what kind of work I was going to have during the day.

best one I've ever had here so far, and I've had quite a few over the years, some horribly rude and nasty constantly. This job has gotten awful enough without dealing with a psycho on a power trip. This one has been a breath of fresh air, leaves you alone to work, doesn't hound you, and asks for OT rather than demanding mandatory OT... I don't mind pitching in when needed, but don't count on it when you DEMAND it nonstop.

We fix literally hundreds of ASR errors on every single report, but God help us, we're sure going to hear about it if we accidentally miss one trying to fly through and make over minimum wage... Then, they have to give us tips as if we actually typed it wrong & don't know, not that it's one out of thousands of ASR mistakes we deal with every single day. Ugh, this job sure isn't what it used to be.

Yes, I'm one of those rare people who used to like her HDSM. When we changed to the POD system, the only thing that made me happy was that I kept her as my HDSM so I "knew I could talk to her." they expect someone to get up in the middle of the night to work an hour of OT. (Same if you worked nights and were expected to get up and put in an hour dring the day). Back in August my very awesome HDSM was let go suddenly and our group was merged with another group. My new HDSM seems to only send out vague backlogs (a single number for her entire BOB, which means nothing to me) and constantly seems to ask for OT whether it seems we need it or not (this weekend it was 10 minutes before I ran out of work, and I get everything in her BOB).
