Nuance STARTS their equivalent of CCMs at 45,000/year, salary.  No need to worry about PTO, sick time, etc..you just get your salary no matter what.  I am assuming Mmodal is right around there..which quite frankly makes me ill and madder than hell.  I do not begrude anybody their due..but the chasm..GIANT chasm between highly trained MLS and pretty much schedule keepers is so patently unjust I do not think I will ever get out of this vortex of bad morale I am sinking in.

The thing is, they dont just put in their 40 a week. They are asked to do much - extra, i.e. TSM taking on extra BOBs now. nm

are expected to do much more than keep schedules, and it seems they are expected to be available 24/7. I sent my TSM an email 3 days ago and no reply. While this probably should make me mad, I just suppose she is paddling to keep her head above water too. I no longer care enough to get angry. We have the power to change things if we would all band together collectively. Imagine what would happen with their accounts if we all "walked out" at the same time and demanded to be paid more before coming back. Guess they would be calling for the few stragglers for mandatory OT for the backlog. It is ludicrous to expect 99% accuracy from ppl who have to work as fast as possible to both maintain a certain hourly line count and eek out some sort of living. The expectation is we have to be almost perfect while working as fast as possible to earn less than minimum wage (oh...and be willing to do that on every holiday too).

I don't know if she's rubbing it in our faces, bragging or what, but it rubs me the wrong way big time. I'll gladly take her salary to screw off the majority of the day.

..and I am sorry. with smart phones you can prettymuch work from amywhere to monitor TATs and reply to emails..and from what is said on the board..most CCMs do not even do that with any consistency. Nothing against them at all BTW..it is the F'd up way Mmodal is structured and who they value.

You have a valid point - at least CCMs know how much their check will be every week and don't have to keep working b/c they need to make more.

That is 52 weeks a year, day in and day out..and that is based on MY CPL which is probably on the high range. But hey..if you are able to consistently turn in 3000 to 3500 lines a day for that salary..I am more than envious. I could not do that with a gun to my head.

I also found out they cheated lines on a reg basis..not sure if this company has any barriers to that in effect..But the last company I worked for someone ratted out the people, they went in found it and fired them...
How could you cheat if it is the system counting the - lines. OP

I was told how to do it by an old timer, and it never even dawned on me. I know she did it at Spheris also,,Never understood why about 10 people left at once, all the sudden..Someone ratted them out there as well..

My goal is 3000 lines each day, some days I don't make it, - some days I go over....

I also work overtime whenever it is allowed, not because I want to, because I have to. Divorced, single mom of 3 with 1 child in college and 1 headed there soon, and an extra-large house that I tried to hang on to keep the kids stable post divorce. House is on the market now that everyone is emotionally ready to move on (10 years later). Hopefully soon we will be downsized to a reasonable size home and I can quit working my butt off.

I'd like to know what account you're on and what kind of work types you get, because all I ever seem to get are the worst/hardest dictators and/or the junk work types. Even if I did 50 progress notes or discharge summaries a day, I still wouldn't get 1000 lines. I am making half of what I used to make before SR, no matter how hard I work.

I do a variety of work types all day long, my favorite are OPs and if I could do only OPs I could do even more. I, too, used to make a lot more. My pay has dropped by $24,000 a year since I was with Healthscribe. I dropped 17,000 when we went from Healthscribe to Spheris and another 7000 with the switch to Medquist/MModal. Not happy about that for sure, but I can still eke out a decent living...if there is enough work. That is generally the only reason I don't reach my goal somedays is just not enough work, but lately the work has been plentiful. I'm in the north region.

they refuse to give them to me. I have many years of experience on all acute care work types, but that doesn't seem to matter, as they keep sending me the junk.

offered me the job. They do not appear to be able to have job security. I have had at least 7 CCMs that I can remember in almost 7 years. I would rather stay a "lowly" MT.

Just curious but how much money do the CCMs make?  I've never been able to find an answer to this question.  Also, do you have to have a certain number of years transcription experience to be a CCM?  I'm not interested in the position, just curious.  I've also never understood why sometimes communcation with them is bad.  Why do they go for days without sending out emails to the MTs sometimes?    ...

What kind of hours do they work? What kind of pay do they get?  Is it hourly? I've been thinking it might be a good transition to make but I don't know anything about what they do really, except ignore a lot of emails. ...

since I never could get the "new improved" email to work, so I don't know if my CCM got the boot or not.  The account I work on had at least 10 people providing daily work updates, some with only the mysterious name of MedQuist North.  The account was/is almost always behind and they are constantly requiring overtime.  Always made me wonder if any of those folks did any of the actual work other than sending out how many reports were available.  Probably for the best that ...


Can CCMs Turn Lockdown On And Off?

Lockdown for us started last week and sometimes I can punch in earlier than 15 minutes and jobs keep downloading after my shift and other days I get the error message to contact my CCM.  Also last week there were 200+ shifts posted on the swap board to pick up and this week around 25 a day.  We also go from NJA to many late jobs in the matter of a day with no consistency.  Lastly, when I logged off my shift tonight the backlog for my account was very high with late jobs but n ...

You know I have worked for several companies over the years..and the art of supervision seems to be lost at MModal..I have had supervisors that I would do ANYTHING for because they at least acted like they gave a crap..I get along with most anyone, I enjoy people and their perspective on life.  I dont know what it is with this company but they need to do a reboot and teach people how to do their jobs.  A seething email telling me I have to work OT on a holiday weekend gets you nowhere, ...

When you transcribe a doctor's name in the body of the report, do you always need to transcribe the doctor's full name and title, even if not dictated as such - for example, would you need to transcribe "Adam Adams, MD" even if just dictated as "Dr. Adams," and look up the full name and title?
