CMT= +0.005 CPL, or 55,000 lines to break even - L&L
Posted: Mar 25, 2010
It was 275- for the exam when I took it, valid for 3 yrs.
It took 2.5 hrs of my life, plus driving time to the big city.
Worth it? Maybe for job hunting.
PS...you don't have to join AHDI to take it - L&L

I'm certainly absolutely no fan of AHDI, but when MQ was acquired by cBay there was an email which implied CMT might be worthwhile to have in the long run which I interpreted in terms of long-term retention.
No thanks. Was a CMT. Got me nothing. If you stay on with MQ it - wont mean much if any more money.

Don't know why one would want to have long term retention when there is no long term benefit.
I can't imagine MQ giving huge raises for anything.
money is money...is additional 1560 per year - L&L

I already have CMT so no big deal. After taxes...more to take to the casino.
How do you get additional 1560 per year? I didnt see an offer - by MQ. ?
[ In Reply To ..]
And they would have to pay me way more than 1560 a year to put up with their games.
from CCM...0.005 CPL, if you work here, you ARE ALREADY playing their games - L&L

0.005 x 150 LPH x 40 hrs/week x 52 wks/year = 1560.
No I GAVE MY NOTICE. No more games for me. - That is not a lot of money . .
PLUS
0.5 cpl 2nd shift (?pm-10:59pm)
OR
1 cpl 3rd shift (11pm-6am)
which IS NOT new
PLUS
my raise
which IS new
PLUS
0.005 cpl for my lines (assuming I can find my d*mn certificate in the mess I live in)
which IS new

Can you tell me if there is documentation on MQ Central of this .005 CMT differential? I want to see that in print before I ask my CCM again, as I know she will tell me that there isn't one, but I want to be able to tell her where to look on MQ Central.
That is nothing. And I don't have to put up with MQ anymore!!!
Good for you. Why such ill will. MQ is just fine for me so why - L&L

can't you just accept that and stay off the MQ board. I'm glad you have a great job. Everybody should have a great job they can live with. Mine is MQ, yours was not. Good For You.
You have got to be lying or have a way better account than mine. - Anon

Bash me, I don't hate MQ...apparently that is all this board is for...MTs who hate MQ.
Can I copy your essay? - sheister

I wanna be just like you, like you and nobody else but you.
MQ is a good fit for me. If it is not for you, it is not my fault. - L&L

I do my job. I like my job. I don't feel cheated. I don't feel demeaned. I make good money. I don't agree with MQ policies, but I don't think the grass will be greener anywhere else. I'd rather have a job than no job. I think First Time Right sucks because MQ hires so many newbies and the reports I see are pathetic. If they ever lose my hospital or change my account, I will simply quit working for them. No notice. No nothing. No big deal.
you are not right in your mind, especially for Evil Q - Bunion

You are just "MEAN" as you know no one can do that at MQ! You have a gravy account and, guess what? You will end up like US. Quit bragging it, you stink, you will get yours! hahahaha
Does anybody know which column companies look at to decide if you are meeting the minimum 250 requirement in Escription? When I look at the metrics there are 2 columns...median lines per hour and average lines per hour. ...
if you make 4 cents per line at 1000 lines a day, they really calculate it at 500 lines per day x 4 cents, making it really 2 cents per line for the full 1000.
I heard this, and I am really interested in knowing if it is true. ...
My main account was a good one, and the lines were very good, mostly ER work. I have been on this account for over a year and a half now. We recently received an e-mail stating that Nuance had discovered that the line count was charging incorrectly, as instituted by them, and they had been crediting us with MORE lines than we were actually doing and overcharging the client.
Now get this, they informed us that they would not make US pay it back, for their mistake, but that our new lines would re ...
What do you do when you have the required hours but are short lines?
I got an email that I need to "make plans to have my shortage made up." The only problem is that I'm up to date with my hours for the pay period so far. The other problem is that I have plans Saturday night and Sunday (both being my scheduled time off) that don't include TransTech.
It's getting harder and harder to defend this company when they can't hold up their end of the agreement and continually ...
Just wondering if the TT MTs would like share ... how many lines do you average during the day/week? I'm doing about 9,000 to 10,000 a week and wonder if I should be pushing myself more. How much of your count is VR? I do probably 15% traditional and 85% VR but that, of course, varies week to week. ...
I was just curious how often you get up to stretch your muscles and move around, etc. I am trying to every hour or so take a 5 minute break or my muscles in my upper back and neck start to ache.
...
Have you ever used the break function simply because you had a dictator that was so horrible that you got frustrated and sent it back? I know that we are not supposed to do this and that MQ supposedly keeps track of how many breaks we use but I have to admit I have done this no occasion. I had a report so bad a couple of weeks ago which was over 1000 seconds long and an ESL doctor, not to mention scratchy sound, etc. About halfway through this thing I had already spent nearly 2 ...
How do other mothers deal with summer break when their kids are out of school as far as working for a company? Do some companies let you have summers off and then return in the fall? Do some MTs change their schedules around possibly doing work at night, etc? Any companies better about this than others? ...
How many Medical Transcriptionist right now feel like they are being discriminated against because of your lack of experience?
Why are Medical Transcription companies only looking to hire experienced Medical Transcriptionist in a certain field? Don't they realize the resources that are out there now, that can give someone the opportunity to grow in this field. Right now there are so many people out of work and struggling to get a job and have little to no ...
I noticed today that the break pay section of the timesheet was gone today and when I clocked off a minute ago after working for 7 hours that in the "break" box, it said 0.00, when usually it would be 0.33. Anyone know? I know it's not a lot of money, but I usually get about 3 hours per pay period and about $30. I would hate to lose that, cause every dollar counts. ...
I am trying to increase my production and am wondering if I push through could I take a break and then be more productive when I go back. How often do you take a break and for how long? ...
How many lines do you average per day - VR and traditional? I know it's been VERY slow lately, but when things are going well, how many lines do you normally get? I'm trying to figure out where the average numbers are. For me, I do about 350 trad and about 1400 VR in 8 hours. Well, my timesheet says 8 hours, but my clock says that number MAY(!) be a little higher. Again, these are numbers I pull when things are going well and I'm not waiting for work to download.

She has had bilateral tremors dating back at least a year and a half, when we first saw her in July, and noted a long history of anxiety and Geodon use, the latter starting about 3 months before the tremor, and at the time noticed on exam a 4-extremity tremor, worse right greater than left, a mixed rest and action, with marked rigidity right greater than left, upright gait with some posture instability and a masked facies with a decreased blink rate and a po ...
I hate it when "supposedly" the platform is not functioning properly or their system is "down" because I am making way too many lines for your (MTSO) taste. Then, it is finally "fixed" and you give me the worst and oldest dictations available. Who exactly are you kidding? Is this supposed to slow me down so I don't get that many lines. Give me a break - I know this trick, been an MT way too long. Just had to vent - Please do not try to convince me this is in my imagi ...
Ran across this on Internet. Interesting.

Now low work this morning is due to spring break. Next week it will be Easter. What then?? To my knowledge hospitals are open 27/7 and still take patients. Wonder what the next excuse will be--why don't they just tell the truth. ...
To bad we don't get a break with the awful dictators. When you get those your line count goes down, and you are dinged for that. Really sucks when your line count for the week is above the minimum but all there is to do in the que are the hard to hear....now line count is below minimum :( ...
I don't mind having an unpaid 30-minute break, but the thing that bothers me about some of these companies is the fact that it is tiring sitting at a computer for 8 hours and getting only a 30 minute break. If I want two more 15 minute breaks those can be worked in, but then I have to add back 30 more minutes to my time! I like to at least stretch ever hour or so. :/ ...

I have been working in this field for many, many years. When I started, it was a little easier to break into this field. It was in an era when everyone didn't work at home and every company didn't require 2 years experience.
I figured the newbies on this board would know the answer to my question. I have a friend who has been an RN for years and would like to break into the MT field. Being that she has terminology/medical experience, is there any way ...
I've got almost the exact same word question as someone below, not sure if we're from the same company or if this is just a wild coincidence, but I thought I'd try again for responses.

I have a report in my queue that is 3183 seconds in length and I am currently typing a 1000-second report. When I finish my current report, I know I won't have time to type the 3000-second report before we go into maintance, and will lose it all if I tried. I know this is dictation through the whole 3000 seconds because I know who is dictating it. In 6 years, I have never abandoned or broke a report before, but I'm going to have to do so now and leave a message t ...
