hired with Ascend as of this past Monday - anon

I have been hired with Ascend as of this past Monday. The communication from this company has been very little and it took them until Thursday to do the software install. I have no idea when I will be trained or start working so I am left to twiddle my thumbs. Thinking I may jump ship and look for another job. Thoughts are welcome.

I was hired about a week ago, told to do practice dictation as they wanted people on board and would be paid for those - received e-mail last week to stop typing those dictations and wait for phase 1 of training, where I will be given 25-30 old dictation, proofed and returned (this phase is over a 2-week pay period for which now I will not be paid line rate but a stipend), then they will decide if I go to phase 2 which is evidently a repeat of phase 1 and hopefully eventually go live. On top of that have to now "wait" until I am scheduled for phase 1 and will be notified. Not sure I want to stick around for any of this. Sounds to me like they hired and the account is not starting as soon as expected and evidently no real start date yet. Thank goodness I kept my other position. As far as training, the installer went through the platform and that was my training. I have spoken to no one at this company except the recruiter and the installer.

I was hired on Friday. Told the same thing regarding the old files and $200 stipend. I haven't gotten my paperwork in yet, but I get it in by Friday and not get my hopes up too soon, because it sounds like the "go live" date isn't until April.

GOOGLE ASCEND and GLEN FALLS HOSPITAL. Multimillion dollar account. LOT of people had no work after that debacle.

Epilog/Ascend - Vegas

Ascend is out of Virginia and last year they were named in a lawsuit along with Glens Falls Hospital in New York for breach of confidentiality and lost the account. Also, all those folks transcribing lost that account. Not sure why they need a recruiting firm now. I find that very suspicious.

Does anyone at this company answer emails? - Hired? I think

I also have been hired ( I think!) but they are putting us through phases of dummy reports, like a months worth of phases and no pay yet because QA is backlogged so we dont know if we have passed onto next phase? I should have read archives before I applied about Ascend/Epilog or whatever they are called. Should I get out now before I waste anymore time or money (we had to upgrade from XP at our cost) Anyone else recently hired and going through same issues or am I just having trouble?

This company is notorious for not answering emails!!!! Good luck. If you have been there awhile you have better luck getting someone to answer your emails. But, not sure about this Epilog recruiting company???? Still not sure why they needed to hire a recruiting company. No one can answer that question.

Beware anyone thinking about working for Ascend! They are extremely unorganized and chaotic. I don't know why they make you submit invoices - which are very time consuming to prepare - when they will just pay you something different or not at all. They shorted my first paycheck by 1/3. When I was finally able to get in touch with someone, they did send me the adjustment.... but I have not received my last paycheck at all!!! I have tried to contact them several ...

If you want to be paid for any work you do I would not advise working for this company. I have not been paid for "phase I" of the transcribing we were supposed to do which was supposed to be paid last week, evidently there are others according to the main board.
