Just an ESL vent - memt

Just need to vent and complain a little about the annoying way this ESL dictates...it's really getting on my nerves.   He constantly says things like: Heart sounds "is" regular.  Medications "is" reviewed.  Lungs "is" clear.  Always combining plurals with singulars.  Then there's the: There is "a" pitting edema...  And no, he's not saying "ah", it is clearly an "a."  There is "a" mitral regurgitation...  Finally, I can tell he's reading word for word off prior dictations.  He'll start out referring to the prior visit, speaking in past tense, i.e. "at that time, the patient 'was' feeling well."  He'll continue on with info about the prior visit, but read the pior report as it was typed and be speaking in present tense, but yet still referring to that last visit.. blood pressure "is" ..., wound "is" healed well.  Then, he's talking about "today's" visit and says blood pressure "is"... wound "is"...   Oh, and then he'll start out a sentence of his and combine it with what he is reading off the prior report, but does't combine them in a way that makes sense so I have to add a word or two to blend them together so it sounds right.  I'm sure there will be those of you who think this is just petty little stuff, which in a way it is, but it's over, and over, and over again and I think he needs to learn/speak English a little better if he wants to dictate professional, permanent, accurate medical records.  I so wish I could just type this exactly as he dictates it, but I can't get myself to do it and make such blatant mistakes.  Plus, I'm sure the errors would come back on me and not the dictator... even though I would be typing what he dictated.  Oh well... I continue on correcting his ESL grammar.  I should get paid more for this.  I feel better now that I vented in writing rather than just yelling at my computer!  LOL.
