Don't you wish there was a standard "universal" platform? - Why not?

That is what I dread most about changing companies.  After all of the testing day after day (worse than working), then you have all this stuff to download and learn.  Why can't there just be a universal platform with state physician databases that everyone uses.  Why are there such complicated differences?

ridiculous detail and minutia when it comes to the various job descriptions for each account totally backfires on both the client and the hospital when it comes to TAT and accuracy. And really - whether or not something is bolded or not, or a sentence is next to a heading or underneath it, has no bearing on patient care. If a hospital wants all its reports to look identical, it should either hire in house MTs to do their bidding, or else they should adopt a standard, SIMPLE, easy-to-read block format so that the MTs can pay more attention to TRANSCRIPTION details, instead of STYLE details.

This is what the ADHI tried to do. No dice. So if everyone wants their own "client specifics" and there are so many specifics within the specifics, CHARGE FOR IT. The MTSOs should have the "administrator" or whoever agree on a "universal" plan for all dictators on the account. This crap about Dr. SoandSo wants bold, the rest done, and Dr. SoandSo wants numbers below 10 spelled out, and the rest don't, is absolutely ridiculous when you have 100 docs to transcribe for. You almost have to look at the specifics before every single report.

If this can not change, why not ASSIGN physicians to certain MTs with backup MTs. Assigning physicians to MTs increases production, better TAT, less need for QA, and increases an MTs income. If an MT is out, she has a fellow MT to cover, referring to the specifics for those docs.

I know, dream on.

Universal Start/Stop Foot Pedal

Does anyone who is using Emdat/Inscribe use this foot pedal?  If so, does it work well for you?  I am currently using an Infinity USB-1 foot pedal and even though I have configured it on the Emdat/Inscribe platform, it just doesn't work like it should.  I checked the price of the Universal Start/Stop Foot Pedal and found that it costs around $100.  I am reluctant to pay that much before finding out if it actually works well with this platform.  Anyone care to share ...

Time and time again it is reiterated the importance for us to remain professional, as we are a reflection of MQ.  For example, never say "poor dictator" because this may be insulting to the holy than thou doctor, PA or RN.  What about the annoying PA that constantly insults me by saying in middle of her dictation, "note to my typist."  And this is not insulting?  All the training, years of experience and BS I have to put up with to be called a "typist" repeatedly.  ...

I have been here a little while, about 3 months.  I have been switched around between CCMs already to go where my primary account goes.  I needed a few hours to go to a school function and asked for that leave.  I have never been responded to by my CCM.  Is this usual?  I put up my shift on the swapboard, said I'd make the time up.  Etc. i am on 100% QA and am constantly confused.  I am corrected for things, ask my coach.  She tells me QA is correct.  Then when I change it how she says to I get it changed back to the way I was doing it before~!  I love Fluency, i am amazingly fast at it but i think QA will ultimately do me in...for doing what i'm told to do...GRRRRR ...

Acute Care - Define Please! And Standard 4

I am full time & started training class the last week of July so this is my 1st full pay period.  I know we are required to make $900 a pay period, but I can't find my offer letter and can't remember if this was after you'd worked 90 days, or that after 90 days they will check to see if you are averaging. I wondered if any one on this board can tell me the industry standard for lines per hour or lines per minute are? Mostly what I see on this forum is discussion over CPL or hourly rates without a line per day requirement.
