Do all of your companies that you work for use the BOS as their industry standard?

all of 'my' companies that I have worked for have used it as a standard... so the answer would be Yes. ;-)

I'm assuming the OP understands that I obviously cannot answer for every single MT on this board. At least I hope so.

I've been in the business since the end of 1978, both working in hospitals and being an independent contractor, and not ONE has ever told me to use the BOS.

My company does, unless client requests differently. NM - Fingers

Industry Standard - Horski

Basically, my boss has asked me to find the industry standard on some items, and so far I am not sure there is an industry standard. Some swear by ADHI and they endorse BOS, but others do not endorse BOS as the industry standard. Is there one? Maybe we just get to make up our own rules? I have worked for this hospital for a long time, but we are finally implementing QA and trying to get some kind of likeness of reports. Thanks.

be the way to go--however, while most still use BOS2,there is a BOS3 out there now with some changes. Ultimately, the client decides how they want their reports to look and that is the "standard."

Anything the client doesn't directly address in their preferences is defaulted to the BOS.

Time and time again it is reiterated the importance for us to remain professional, as we are a reflection of MQ. For example, never say "poor dictator" because this may be insulting to the holy than thou doctor, PA or RN. i am on 100% QA and am constantly confused. I am corrected for things, ask my coach. She tells me QA is correct. Then when I change it how she says to I get it changed back to the way I was doing it before~! I love Fluency, i am amazingly fast at it but i think QA will ultimately do me in...for doing what i'm told to do...GRRRRR ...

Suddenly we have new QA and it's gotten crazy! We have some new PA's that dictate things so out of order as compared to the "norm" and QA wants us to give it to them instead of making reports alike as we were trained to do. I know we are required to make $900 a pay period, but I can't find my offer letter and can't remember if this was after you'd worked 90 days, or that after 90 days they will check to see if you are averaging. I am typing ds2 files and am using the above player which the olympus representative said was created to play ds2 files. however, I have tried taken the file from the place it was sent to me and it seemed to import into Folder A. But the file never could be seen in Folder A or the transcriptionist Tray. I did this many many many times with the same result.
