than any work you have to do?!? I have a 70-pound dog insisting on trying to climb in my lap or just plain knocking my hands off the keyboards today! He's keeping me entertained though.

I have two 60 pound dogs who like to come up and nudge my arms off the chair. I have one cat who comes and claws at the back of my chair when she wants in/out/in/out. I have another cat who routinely steps all over my keyboard and sometimes chews through the cord for my headphones. One other cat just comes up and lays in my lap or in front of my screen. :D

who comes in my office and puts her paws on the side of my chair and pushes me until I get up and see what she wants. (DH is downstairs, but she has her own agenda for each of us). I love her to pieces!

Yeah, I've got that problem as well, but with me its cats. I appreciate the fact that they show their affection by making the biscuits, but not when they have claws.

I got a baby duck to add to my 4 adult ducks. The idea was to keep her in my office until the weather was good for her to go outside. Well, the weather hasn't been good and she is almost full grown. Her quack decibels are louder than the dictation, especially during a complex op report. I have to admit, she really is a good "therapy duck" for MT PTSD!

I have also had cats that love to sleep on the printer. It's hysterical to watch the cat's reaction the first time you send a page to the printer.

as soon as I sit at my desk that it's time for a chewy treat (I give them Honest Kitchen fish skins as they last a long time). To them, me sitting there working equals them getting treats.

BUT, of course, they are the loves of my life....actually the reason I stay in transcription....I can't bear to leave them for 9 hours per day! LOL it really IS the ONLY reason.....

I am not doing transcription anymore, but I have a 3 1/2 pound yorkshire terrier who insists she is more important than anything going on in the world, house, yard, etc. Totally demands all of the attention of my husband and myself. Guess what? She gets all the attention too! Very much worth it!

I had a 70 pound husky until about two years ago who fit the description you have. Thought she was a lap dog and would take her nose and smack my elbow when I was typing and then lay her head in my lap!

A puggle who will lay her head up against my thigh until I acknowledge her and a boxer who will stand behind my chair and "talk" to me until I find out what he wants. They know what time I usually take my breaks and if I am late, they are there wondering if I am coming or not, I swear they have alarm clocks that go off!
