I have simple advice: Please don't react. If you choose to ignore the rudeness there will be no satisfaction from making others feel hurt. Giving a reaction only provides encouragement.

It used to be very interesting to come to these boards. I rather enjoyed it. Now it appears there are a bunch of high-schoolers on here instead of professional women. You get flamed if you post about your success. You get flamed if you post about your poor work environment. You get insulted if you ask about day-to-day transcription practices. People are demanding that the moderators restrict certain posts, or certain people from posting. The name-calling has reached extremes.

I assume there are all these confrontational posts because people are basically unhappy with their own situations. I believe some people use rudeness as a false sense of power or intelligence. It does not matter what a person posts, there is some reason why it is wrong or should not be here.

I agree with over-the-hill MT. These posts will continue, I am sure, but there are those of us who do not respond to them because the OPs are just looking for conflict. I enjoy debating, disagreeing, or discussing in a mature manner. Join us in that.

I agree, it always seems as if someone is looking to start a fight. I'm particularly discouraged in regard to those who come here to share their successess and instead of some people offering congratulations or being happy for them, the person is attacked and picked apart. We're all language specialists and could learn to choose our words a bit more carefully. There is a way to debate without being mean spirited or confontational. I'm in the workplace every day and I can say for a fact that this behavior would not be tolerated, either by fellow coworkers or by management.

With 30 years of experience over many platforms (16 of which are from home), what is the point of applying to any of these companies? They are few and far between. They certainly do not want to pay anyone what they are worth (since they can just outsource on the cheap)... Most of the time you don't get a response from any of them anyway, not here and not on MTDaily either. ...

I am amazed at how many people ask the same question year after year about company after company. Companies have until 1/31 to mail W2s. The bigger the company, the longer it takes to finish up the previous year's books and have W2s ready to print. It takes a lot of time to print, assemble, stuff, seal, stamp and mail an entire company's worth of W2s.
