avoid Softscript like the plague - Ex-QA/MT

I'd avoid Softscript like the plague. They are about the worst company I've ever had the misfortune of working for. They turn over staff constantly, the backstabbing and nasty emails from "management" never ceases, and finally, they set you up for failure. Always out of work, PTO is terrible. I could go on and on, but will not. I worked for them for 2 long and tortuous years, and I would not recommend them to anyone.

[ In Reply To ..]You just described Medquist to a "T." If you would have put in MQ instead of SS, I could not have seen the difference. What is up with these places? OMG, they need MTs and yet the way they treat us, is beyond belief. So happy I left MQ as well.

[ In Reply To ..]I too worked for SoftScript at one time. They were the first company I ever worked for at home. I was there for 4 years. During that time I saw my lines periodically get stolen, policy changes that one person knew about but the other person didn't and lots of NASTY e-mails from the VP, CR.
At one time I did radiology for them. What a nightmare !! I can remember on one day I did over 100 reports and still DID NOT have my required lines of 1080 lines. They did not adjust the length of the report at all. Toward the end of my time I was CONSTANTLY out of work plus I had requested to flex 4 hours on Thanksgiving. In the past I had been told I could make up any flex time as long as it was before the end of the pay period. On this particular occasion, I was told that if i flexed 4 hours on Thanksgiving I had to make it up the same day !!!! Just ridiculous. I am so glad I left them.

I have noticed a significant decline in my line count with Softscript ever since their blooper that happened on MT week. I dont really understand how that has affected my line count so much but I used to type 23 jobs and get about 1000 lines. Now I type 23 jobs on the same accounts and get 700 lines. I noticed that every now and then that SoftScript advertises on the MT Job board for a pathology transcriptionist. I tried applying for that job once, but they said that they wanted "recent" experience and the last time I did pathology was in 2001. And yet, they keep advertising for that position.
