I have noticed a significant decline in my line count with Softscript ever since their blooper that happened on MT week. I dont really understand how that has affected my line count so much but I used to type 23 jobs and get about 1000 lines. Now I type 23 jobs on the same accounts and get 700 lines. Something is wrong with this picture. I am looking for another job, I just feel like I'm wasting my time.

You're sure not alone in this mess. If someone shorted "C" on her paycheck she'd go even crazier. Hopefully a suit is in the works already. Line counts are only part of what they're doing to cheat the MTs and it's time to put an end to it.

you will be knocked down to part-time with no benefits because of it. Happened to me. They had the nerve to say I could still work 39 hours a week with no benefits. Don't know what they're smoking, but that's totally insane.

This is one of the absolute weirdest companies at which I've worked. My PM, also with initials PM, always gave me the creeps any time I talked to her (she was a very strange person and sounded that way on the phone), as did the people in HR. The day I was fired (after being lied to repeatedly for months about why there was no work on my account -- turned out that SS had lost that account and didn't tell the MTs), one of the grinches in HR actually laughed during the phone call while I was being fired. There was no work for months, and yet I was being fired for not working my schedule. I was explaining that I checked every morning for work (at 6 a.m. at the start of my shift), and when there was none, I went on to find other work to do elsewhere. I had asked numerous times for other accounts, and all those had no work every day as well. They wouldn't listen even one second. Fired me and laughed at me. I will be so glad to see this company be bought by MedQuist because they both deserve each other so much, but I doubt MedQuist would have them -- they're too sorry even for the squid.

I'm thinking about starting a blog about all of these companies, one after the other, who cheat, lie to, demean, and wipe their boots on their employees. Plus, I'd like to include their bait and switch tactics of advertising a job and then the job being nothing like what they've promised. That's happened to me more than once. I'd like to call them out in public for how they have behaved, as I have all the documented proof of what they did to me, and I know others do, too.

Worked for SS and worked under PM that whole time, talk about a passive/aggressive personality. The nasty group e-mails they sent out on a daily basis were ridiculous.

There was never any work and when there was it was the worst of the worst.
It was so not worth working for that bunch of clowns.

I had the same PM as you two did. She was extremely snide and condescending. This chick was always sick with some sort of cold or bronchitis and I could barely hear her as she hacked during each and every call. Maybe that was her plan.

If you are all talking about the same one I had, her name was Penny, first name. Must be same one. I never talked to her on the phone but the e-mails sure were nasty. Just not smart, and not a smart professional way to treat folks. The company must sure approve of this kind of stuff. I found it pretty disorganized right from the start.

to DOL. One of the support guys told me that they record every time we get no jobs available popup. They know exactly when we are out of work and keep over hiring. Hopefully i get termed soon. Total waste of time. Looking for another job.

How long after end of pay period does Softscript usually pay? I'm fairly new and trying to adjust! It's the 8th and end of November pay hasn't posted yet - is it just me since I'm new? I noticed that every now and then that SoftScript advertises on the MT Job board for a pathology transcriptionist. I tried applying for that job once, but they said that they wanted "recent" experience and the last time I did pathology was in 2001. And yet, they keep advertising for that position. I've not been working for SS very long and have been doing QA for them. I was wondering if anyone who reads this board is a QA, or has been a QA, for SS and, if so, do they audit you? How strict are the audits? What happens if you don't make the score? I have a friend who used to work for SS a couple years ago and she said that she quit because the audits were "nitpicky." Have over 10 years experience, have applied twice, have left my shift to work open. Have nothing against me, great references. Their email address they provide on their website when submitting emails to returns stating not a working email/no longer exists...Not one reply back. Do not answer their phones. SoftScript has bait and switch listings up again. Please take a minute and read over recent posts regarding SoftScript's techniques to employ MTs. How many mentors and Q coordinators can they really need? Sounds very possible that SS will go the way of TRS and MDI. The posts below sound eerily similar to the TRS and MDI sagas. If I were a betting man, I’d wager that, like TRS and MDI, the company will fail/sell out and be absorbed by a bigger one. What does anybody know about a company called Softscript and what do they think -- I think Medical Transcriptionists are being ripped off. I have worked for 3 major transcription companies; and have watched my income steadily decline. I've been doing this work for 23 years and wish I knew how to do something else.
