Wow, you really can't make any money with Amphion - me

I type my butt off full time and don't make anywhere close to $2k a month. This is the first time I've gotten to see it since it's the first time they've had enough work for me to make my line count.

They don't pay for spaces, plus they have a weird way of counting lines. Time to send out resumes. I am not typing my way into carpal tunnel for this pittance they call a paycheck.

Amphion people, are you making decent money there?

I don't know if it is just my team or the whole company but pretty basically, I hate it and I am looking for something that is a better fit. I can deal with a lot of things for $$$ but these folks want to pay nothing and make huge demands on my time and pay. On top of that, every account gets to literally make up their own rules for transcription - not how it should look or things that are normal requests but literally create their own version of a BOS. This makes switching accounts and QA scores a huge joke considering you might get 4 reports on an account before you have to start surfing through others to find a report to work. Nope, I gotta' get out of this place!

It took over a year and another account added to my queue but I finally make good money, what I think is good anyway. I am staying because I need the insurance and we are buying a house soon and can't switch jobs if I wanted to. Between working almost 40 hours/week and 2 accounts I'm doing better than entry level jobs around town and saving alot on gas. I was not happy in the beginning and applied for any job out there but now it's gotten alot better.

Ask me again on a slow day and it may be a different story...LOL...but seriously, this MTSO is the lesser of 2 evils from my prior experience with ATSI.

I hope you get more work, it seems to be out there anyway (or so they say). Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

No money to be made there with radiology, that's for sure. I can't even begin to explain all the problems with their radiology team. I got on with Keystrokes and am now staying busy.

I am surprised to hear this about Amphion. I had heard they were good if you could get a radiology position there. In light of your post, I am glad I recently went with Keystrokes instead. Do you have just one account with them, or did you ask for two? Do you, by any chance work using a Lanier Ovation system? That's the system I'll be using and I was wondering what people thought of it. Tell me more about Keystrokes if you feel like it.

I used to work at ATSI also, and that was my first online MTSO. That place was a nightmare. I will admit that my production has not been where it needed to be the last two weeks, but barring that, I have definitely not been starving working at Amphion. The trick for me seems to have been being willing to do what it takes and take on new accounts. I have four that I can pull work from, and agreed to have my primary changed, my prior primary gravy account moved to a secondary, and a schedule change, and I am sitting comfortably, at least. Yes, their line calculation can get a bit confusing, but I let excel do the work for me on that now. I am on Escription, which is an excellent platform, and that may make a big difference.

They also keep taking more things away, like no holiday pay now and also part-timers only get 24 hours of UNPAID time off a year - not even enough for a week's vacation.

I have had it..The past 2 paychecks I made approximately $200.00 less..constantly getting work I have never done before from hospitals I have never done because there is no work in my hospitals, constantly having to run searches in DoQManage for reports because I have never done those hospitals before..then we are told there is a certain amount of lines/hour we have to do..there is NOT enough time in an hour to do all this plus transcribe. I just started about 3 weeks ago part time doing radiology in Powerscribe at 0.045 cents a line. Is there any way to make money at this? I'm used to making around $20 an hour, and I'm making about $4 an hour now, wondering if it gets better or if it is worth my time. Thanks for any input!! ...

So I have been working for private doctors for the past few years. Prior to that I worked for national companies doing straight transcription. Rates back then were 8 to 10 cpl, with 8 cpl being pretty low. Now 8 cpl seems to be where companies tap off. Those of you who claim to make TONS OF MONEY TYPING.... You are not straight typing MTs under regular circumstances IF I believe you...and I don't. You probably work 7 days a week, all hours of the day like most MTs. You DO NOT work a regular 8-hour day, 5 days a week and make that much money. When did hospital jobs get almost as bad as working for a service? When I have had hospital MT jobs before, we were either paid hourly, or hourly base pay plus incentive. It was possible to make $22 to $25 an hour. I seem to be spending an awful lot of time in VR documents, so I am confused as to why I am getting paid less for them.
