Webmedx - have they also cut staff? - Just sayin

Posted: Apr 29, 2011

Ask a technical question on the web form and see what response you get (hint: NONE).  Have they done away with all those people too? Maybe they are getting ready to get eaten by a bigger fish...

Yes, staff has been cut. They said so on the recording. - sm

Reslisten to it today with fresh ears.

I find when I listen to those - my eyes glaze over

[ In Reply To ..]
and I just desperately try to pick up the few salient points. In an industry where we are glued to our headphones all day, maybe they could have picked a better medium to do this? I would prefer an email or message on the webpage that is in print so I could actually go through it and pick out what is important to me. Honestly, either that or get dynamic speaking lessons. I have had many dictators, even ESL, who could get their message across more clearly and dynamically than that. It just puts me straight to sleep, and let's face it, despite the rah rah we're all in it together mode, we know it is bad news so I am not motivated to listen any more than I have to. Thanks for that though, don't think I will listen again but I stand corrected.

I agree... - Tired MT

[ In Reply To ..]
Put it in writing....8 to 10 minutes of a recording telling us how we're all part of a team and have to make sacrifices (I'd love to know who's making sacrifices besides the MTs, probably QA, and a few of the supervisors...) is ridiculous. We're being phased out, pure and simple.

Yep.... - a.

[ In Reply To ..]
those recordings and their blah, blah, blah....then they send in the management to DROP THE BOMB in a separate recording to the unsuspecting MTs at the end of the day, no less (as usual). This MT, however, was not unsuspecting, as most of you probably were not unsuspecting, either. As soon as I heard about the recording, I knew it was ANOTHER BOMB.

You know why they record them instead of put them in print form? sm - Anon2

[ In Reply To ..]
So they can't be copied off and posted for anyone to read, esp on a site like this. They don't want it IN WRITING.
We could always quote--if there was anything worth it. - There are no specific details anywhere, only
[ In Reply To ..]
amorphous statements that leave me rewinding trying to figure out what they might mean. Sounds like we're on a ship that had been/is/would have/will be navigating a rather storm-tossed sea/shallow port/lazy river/unnamed lake with unnamed monster, en route to unspecified destination but will arrive on schedule, returned to port before continuing on with excellent winds, are circumnavigating to avoid storm but still on course, took water but are still on course and drinks will be served in the lounge as usual except for no more olives. Huh?

In pre-forum days, they would have called a company meeting and spoken more clearly. Increased need to protect information is turning out to be a real drawback of the Information Age.
LOL - finally a laugh
[ In Reply To ..]
I am still laughing, thank you so much. I was merely very annoyed at all the buzz words they make up to disguise what they don't have the guts to tell us, how insulting it all is to our intelligence, and what a waste of our time they continue to perpetrate. I think I'll take the train, despite their profundity.
If they'd have put it in print form people would have complained it should - have been a recording. sm
[ In Reply To ..]
What difference does it make? The message is still the same?
Boy you are busy today - isn't this a suits' day off?? nm - non
[ In Reply To ..]
..
Why cant they use an ISR translation of the recording? - Should be 100% correct. No problem. nm
[ In Reply To ..]
nm
ISR version - great idea
[ In Reply To ..]
It would go something like this: Hi J, you ur grat! Hi Shown, you R grat! We have wunderful wisdom to impart. We are a ship ##@lcc*c"*..*** ad nauseum.
This was the funniest thing EVER on the whole Web thread. nm - snort
[ In Reply To ..]
Then they would see how great it really is.
Good one! - that would be hilarious
[ In Reply To ..]
The problem with the recording for me is that I want the pertinent information relative to us MTs in a succinct form. Eight minutes is an incredibly long length of recording to try to pick out the relevant bits, not that there were many in it anyway - I had to go through the manual, etc. for that. Also, what about having the "new structure" or whatever euphemism they called it right there with the bullet points of the message, and also the message to listen if you want. Honestly, between the gloom and doom/costs and rah rah we're all in this together I would say at least 5 minutes of that recording was wasted, at least on me.
Cliffs notes on WMX call - got it

They could have avoided spending days of meetings coming up with obscure language, inventing new jargon and buzz words by just emailing us all: Row harder, rations have been eliminated!

Epic - Changes In # Of Staff In HIM Dept?
Mar 07, 2013

Hi.  I am in my third week of employment as a coder!  Yay!  I am learning a lot, still going to school FT, and commuting 1 hour each way to work.  I am the "low man on the totum pole."  We are starting to train for Epic which is supposed to be going live in a few months.  Has Epic affected the work load in that there is a reduction of coders/transcriptions where you work?  Just wondering.  I do other clerical duties such as pulling charts, abstracting, and ...

SAINCE TRANSCRIPTION No Longer Has A QA Staff
Apr 12, 2013

Saince Transcription no longer has a QA Staff. They let them all go about a month ago. The MTs have been divided into teams with a team leader who is doing all the QA for the team. This poor team leader is really doing the QA for nothing, they get an extra 10% on their cpl rate to offset doing the QA, but sounds like that could really cut down your production. The hospitals they type for don't even know it has happened which sounds illegal or at the very least unscrupulous. They signed ...

Webmedx Needs To Pay
Apr 24, 2010

The unremarkable Wedmedx needs to pay for the downtime MTs are incurring because they want to switch everything over to their horrendous ISR.  The unremarkable Webmedx requires 1 to 4 hours to get new computers up and running and yet we production people are supposed to make up that time or use our PTO time or just not get paid.  The unremarkable Webmedx just hired new people and gave them bonuses to sign on but can't pay their longtime loyal employees for time lost due to no ...
