Webmedx cpl for ASR - Erica

Posted: Apr 07, 2010

Hoping someone can help me with a few questions.  Considering making a change to Webmedx and was wondering about the cpl for ASR.  I also hear that they have lots of overtime and was hoping someone can validate this information.  Any input is appreciated.

ASR and OT - see message - Webber

I am currently getting 4.5 cpl for ASR with the new software. They do have tiered production bonuses (up to an extra 2 cpl for more than 11,000 lines in a week) that is applied to ASR as well as regular typing.

OT has dried up, at least for this week. We were going strong with OT, but I think they have hired many MTs and that may soon be a thing of the past.

Thanks Webber - Erica

Thank you so much for your response. It's nice to know that as a profession we are sisters. I heard about a 6.0 cpl but perhaps the production bonus applied. I've been an MT for 25+ years, never with a national company and based on these boards it's difficult to ascertain which comments to believe. I've been spoiled with one physician dictating (speaking to me as a human) but sadly he's retiring and the new physician is going with an in-house system. Is it possible to still earn $800-$1000/wk?

You might be able to get more cpl since you have more experience. The ASR rate is your transcription rate x 0.625. They do pay shift differentials and weekend differentials. I guess it depends on what line rate you are offered and your productivity whether you could make $800 to $1000 per week or not. Their ASR software is not great, and it is hard to get a huge number of lph with that.
I disagree - I make nearly 300 LPH using ASR and sm - Snickers

am way below that (180-200) on straight typing. It depends how long your accounts have been on ASR and how well you learn to work it!

Thanks to everyone for your comments. If the math is correct, 300 LPH equals over 2000 lines per day at a cpl rate of 6 = $120/day+ or approx $600/wk. Would this be a good guideline?
ASR is great if you're not fast at straight typing BUT - Webber

Those of us who are fast at straight typing don't get much benefit from ASR. I can do 250 lph straight typing and 300 lph with ASR. Those extra 50 lph don't make up for the cut in pay for ASR over straight typing.
Straight Typing vs ASR - Erica

Great info, thanks again, Webber! I heard it's almost impossible to get straight typing accounts with Webmedx. I too would prefer straight typing as after 25+ years it's almost second nature. Maybe my age is showing but I prefer old fashioned straight typing but it seems technology is putting this in the past.
maybe not - memt2

I felt the same way, that I would rather have straight typing because I average about 275-300 lph, but I have only been at Wedmedx a few months and do about 30-40 lines more an hour with ASR but think I could do much better if my account was all ASR, rather than flipping back and forth, I am ready for it after 25+ years, I was reluctant at first but think eventually it will be fine. Right now about 50/50 but waiting for that to increase hopefully to more ASR
So how much is that per hour? - at 4 it is a whopping 12 bucks

??
no actually - memt2

there is the option to make incentive and at 300 lph, which is 12000 per week, that would qualify for 2 cents more per line, making it probably 18-20 depending on what you earn and that still is not great when you are a high producer, but I think it will eventually get to where 400/hour will be possible.

Webmedx Needs To Pay
Apr 24, 2010

The unremarkable Wedmedx needs to pay for the downtime MTs are incurring because they want to switch everything over to their horrendous ISR.  The unremarkable Webmedx requires 1 to 4 hours to get new computers up and running and yet we production people are supposed to make up that time or use our PTO time or just not get paid.  The unremarkable Webmedx just hired new people and gave them bonuses to sign on but can't pay their longtime loyal employees for time lost due to no ...

I just want you to know what a phenomenal job I think you all did on those atrocious accounts.  I QA'ed your work and was amazed at what you could decipher out of those dictations.  You are all amazing MTs in my eyes and any company out there would be lucky to have you working for them. I am so sorry we are all going through this but everything happens for a reason, so they say.  Let's just hope we all have brighter days ahead of us and better things. I was blessed to wo ...

Webmedx Pay Better Than Most

I know a lot of MTs and I keep getting calls to get on MTStars and read the latest bashing of Webmedx.  So when I finished work today I decided to do just that.  To hear all of your complaints I wonder if this is the same company I've been working for all these years. I've been editing since ISR started with them and it took me about a year to make up and at times exceed where I was.  Now I prefer ISR.  The long and the short of it is that as long as Webmedx keeps ...

WebMedX And M-TEC

Is anyone currently working for WebMedX an M-TEC graduate? I'm currently a Premier I student at M-TEC. Since WebMedX is a sister company to M-TEC, I here they are willing to hire new M-TEC granduates who lack the usual 2 years of experience. If you are an M-TEC graduate currently employed by WebMedX, what was your M-TEC graduating GPA? What is a good enough GPA to get hired by WebMedX? I will be graduating in April 2012 and would like to start making some employment plans. ANY INF ...

Comparison Of ASR With Webmedx And MQ.
Nov 15, 2009

Anyone else working for/or have worked for both who has noticed a difference in the quality of the ASR on one as compared to the other.  I may be crazy, but I think I make far fewer corrections to the ASR on MQ work.  Maybe just lucky, but I tend to be a mouse user  (I know - shame on me, but I am getting better) and I find my right hand lets me know when I have been using the mouse more. ...

Webmedx Claims To Be Mostly VR?

My hospital employs Wmx for overflow work.  Their contact person claims we are their only account not using voice recognition, and that almost 70% of the VR reports are good to go without editing.  I find this hard to believe, as so many doctors are resistant to VR because it doesn't work well.  I also find their 70% claim questionable as we've had VR for Radiology for 5 years and approximately TWO percent of reports do not need editing and it has been a big waste o ...
