DO NOT APPLY for jobs with Omniscribes. Owner is Tonya Hubley, out of San Antonio, TX. She does not pay on time and we are worried we will not see our money at all. She had lost a huge account. She was not paying her independent contractors and most everyone quit because they were tired of working for free, which ultimately resulted in her losing the account. This put over 20 MT's out of a job and sitting without getting their last 6 weeks' of pay. She lies repeatedly and she has every excuse in the book as to why isn't paying.

When she hired me, she NEVER mentioned the fact that I didn't get paid until she got paid. When first paycheck was due, she actually acted a little irritated towards me for even asking about it. She said client hadn't paid her, so when she got paid, I got paid. Then, it turned into the never ending check is in the mail, ooops, check got lost in the mail, my kid forgot to mail it, I forgot to mail it, blah, blah, blah. I was afraid to just quit and not EVER get paid. I had a feeling I would eventually get paid, just figured she put EVERYTHING in HER life before her MTs. I claimed computer problems, sicknesses, etc., and barely did any work. When I FINALLY got my check and it cleared the bank, I logged off and never logged back in again. I agree, she does NOT deserve MTs working for her.

Did you not have a contract stating the frequency of your pay (i.e., every other Friday, twice a month, etc.)?

Of course we did. Our contract states we get paid biweekly. But that means nothing to her... she simply has told every lie in the book about why she can't pay, but that was when she was responding to our phone calls and/or emails. She has not responded to anyone's request for status on our pay. The check's in the mail... yada yada yada... we have caught her in so many lies it would floor you! This person is definitely crooked and uses her businesses to supplement her own bank account. We are now taking our collection opportunities to a whole another level!

In her last e-mail she talked about possibly getting new accounts and my first thought was, "she has duped some other poor MTs into working for her." She hides behind that agreement that she asked people to sign, stating they would not post about her payroll practices on Facebook, but she broke her agreement to pay on time (now late for 2 pay periods), so that, to me, nullifies any agreement not to say anything. Small claims, complaints with the BBB, and lots of other fun things await her if she does not come through with payment instead of more lies. The kicker is, she talks about being a Christian.

Her business answering machine isn't either... states the office is closed until April 28th. Today is May 8th. This woman seems to have fallen off the face of the earth with 24 MT's wages for the past 6 weeks. She does not respond to phone calls or emails. Possibly the San Antonio Police Department will find her soon!

some kind of defense when people would say bad things about CS, but I notice she has not responded to this at all. But then again, what could she say? Everything is true. She has not once paid on time, and as you say, I fear that we will not receive these last 2 checks unless legal action is taken. Sad when someone who professes to care about what has happened to this profession and says she wants to help other MTs does business this way. How is she helping us? Relieving us of that "burden" of living in a home when we cannot pay our mortgage?

I am trying to warn fellow MTs, VR editors that Omniscribes does NOT pay ICs. Filing fee plus service fee for small claims in Bexar County, Texas, is $96 and according to the clerk I talked with, you can include recovery of that amount in your claim. This has gone on for too long. She violated her contract/agreement with us when she continually missed the payments, so any agreement not to let others know about this is void. I had to give up my $39. a month wireless ISP to comply with client requirements. Had to sign a 2 year contract with the company "C.L." whose ads claim it's only $19. a month. The speed connection for that price is equivalent to dial up. By the time you really have the DSL you need you are up to $63. a month. I also had to get a landline which I did not need.
