A quasi-Federal employer. Thought I'd be ahead cuz the Feds will manage our jobs AND our health records someday soon. You have to get fingerprinted, get your background investiagated and pay for a retro hunk of foot pedal and then they short your pays.

Big red flag---when a company requires you to purchase something FROM THEM, it's probably a scam. If they sell items and simply let you know and give you a choice, that's a different story. If certain equipment is required for the job, but you can purchase where you want, that's reasonable.

I worked for them for over a year. They are not a scam company. You rent their foot pedal @ $60 taken out of 2 pay checks ($120 total), which is refunded if you return the foot pedal within 10 business days. They pay on a tiered system and they upped their line count requirements after I left. They do have VA accounts, which is why the background checks, etc. However, I was hired for a non-VA account and didn't have to undergo those requirements.

Not real sure what you are complaining about. I have been at eTrans for only a month so far, but have not had a problem whatsoever. The footpedal deposit is returned if you cease employment with them. I have not had to have any type of background check, fingerprinting, etc. So far very nice people. I have 7 accounts to pull from if my primary runs out of work, and they seem to have a very fair compensation package. Sorry you did not feel the same way.

I work for Etransplus..about 2 months now and I love it here. I type for VA so yes I had to do the fingerprints and they do a background check..you do that if you work for any government employer. The foot pedal deposit will be refunded when employment ends. That was really no big deal to me. I work 9-5 Monday through Friday and I'm able to get my lines plus I have a secondary VA acct for backup. The VA is closed on all government holidays so I'm practically off those days too unless someone comes in and dictates which is rare.

I applied and passed all of the testing for eTransplus as advertised on the Job Seekers Board but haven't heard anything back. Did anyone else apply and hear back yet? Just curious since I expected to hear back after successfully jumping through all of their hoops....er, passing all of their tests ;-) ...

Everyone please be aware that TTD is not someone you want to work for. Be aware that you wait 6 weeks for the first check only to find it is short. They are constantly hiring and advertising jobs. I had to give up my $39. a month wireless ISP to comply with client requirements. Had to sign a 2 year contract with the company "C.L." whose ads claim it's only $19. a month. The speed connection for that price is equivalent to dial up. By the time you really have the DSL you need you are up to $63. a month. I also had to get a landline which I did not need.
