Have you been scammed by Tonya Hubley and/or Omniscribes???? - One Tough Cookie

Posted: May 16, 2013

Doing research on how to get this woman to stop stealing from her MTs, I called the Bexar County Sheriff's Office in San Antonio, TX. If you are not getting your money go directly to your local Sheriff's Office and file a Sheriff's Report there. Your County Sheriff will forward the complaint/report on to Bexar County. There they will bring theft charges against this crooked woman who likes padding her own bank account with her MTs hard-earned wages!

I think this woman needs her own board! I can't believe she is still in business! She has large...cajones

I posted a review on Glassdoor. Small step, but maybe it will help. nm - Another unpaid MT

How do you post on that site? I was going to go post - sm

about my former employer who took 2 months to pay.

I joined the site (it is free), then posted my review of the company. sm - Another unpaid MT

Omniscribes was not listed, so I had to enter in the information (website, city, state, etc.), then you rate and review the company. The status is pending while they approve or disapprove the post (they have guidelines that are listed). I didn't even know about the site until all of this came up, but I figure if it helps someone else from getting taken advantage of, then it is worth it.

Good for you! You likely have helped many more MTs than you will ever know. I really would encourage ALL MTs who have been mistreated to utilize glassdoor.com. That includes lack of work abuses, misclassification of ICs as employees, etc. In short, this is a valuable weapon for all of us. It is FREE. I say, let's tell it like it is! We can help each other, warn each other away, and--we can also build a record for hospitals and other people who are in a position to hire MTSOs to see. They (the hospital administrators) need to know what we peons are going through. Enough is enough. I wish I was old enough to quit.

WARNING! OMNISCRIBES And/or TONYA HUBLEY
May 02, 2013

DO NOT APPLY for jobs with Omniscribes.  Owner is Tonya Hubley, out of San Antonio, TX.  She does not pay on time and we are worried we will not see our money at all.  She had lost a huge account.  She was not paying her independent contractors and most everyone quit because they were tired of working for free, which ultimately resulted in her losing the account.  This put over 20 MT's out of a job and sitting without getting their last 6 weeks' of pay.  S ...

DO NOT WORK FOR TONYA MITCHEM
Jun 29, 2012

I can't believe what just happened to me.  I answered the ad for RAD STAT.  Tonya hired me.  I started working at 8 p.m. Friday night.  I jumped right in without any EMDAT/inscribe training.  I worked for three hours straight doing 40 reports without any training.  The last 10 reports were difficult as I didn't have ALL the samples.  She also said she would jump in and help me.  I texted her and told her there was 8 minutes left on the system.&nb ...

Scammed
Sep 12, 2010

I have a sinking feeling that I have beened scammed by a transcription company.  Anyone else out there feel the same way?   I have worked the necessary 6 weeks (sounded fishy to me from the start) before getting my first paycheck. I have done exceptional work for a great doctor.  I have yet to see any money.  I really like this job, but am scared that I have been taken for a ride.  I pray that this is not the case.  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ava ...

There should be a warning out there about this company!  I read the reviews and I thought, well they must have gotten their act together by now.  Apparently not.....I have worked for them for 3 months and have only been paid once and that was for 1 week......I really needed the job and really need the money......I feel like an idiot...what they do not know is my daughter is an attorney in L.A. and she works for the District Attorney there.... ...

Wonder If I'm Being Scammed
May 05, 2014

Has anyone applied with accuray.com? I interviewed with an Anthony but he gave a gmail address and wanted me to download yahoo messenger to conduct the interview. On the computer equipment he said they would pay part of it but wants a fairly huge downpayment sent either Moneygram or Western Union, so pretty skeptical of that. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. ...

Think I Have Been Scammed By MT Company
Dec 13, 2010

I am disparate for work so I sent my info/paperwork to a company Friday so that I can start training today and they have not contacted me over the weekend or today.  I have called them and emailed them and have not gotten a reply either way.  I am worried.  Should I assume they are ruining me?  Or are they caught in that awful snowstorm and have no electric and cannot contact me even by cell phone?  I don't buy that excuse.  What should I do at this point?  ...

Omniscribes - DOES NOT PAY
Mar 16, 2013

I am trying to warn fellow MTs, VR editors that Omniscribes does NOT pay ICs.  Her "rates" are very fair; however, after 3-1/2 months of constant "excuses" and very insulting reasons - I was paid ONCE for VR producing nearly 450 lines/hr.  I left my previous full-time job as I felt this was a great opportunity.  I am trying to spare anyone else the disappointment and frustration of signing on to what you think is an excellent opportunity, only to be repeatedly not paid for your ti ...

FYI For Others Owed Money By Omniscribes. Sm
May 01, 2013

Filing fee plus service fee for small claims in Bexar County, Texas, is $96 and according to the clerk I talked with, you can include recovery of that amount in your claim. This has gone on for too long. She violated her contract/agreement with us when she continually missed the payments, so any agreement not to let others know about this is void. Obviously, the best way to avoid having people post about an MTSO and her late paying practices is to be on time with your payments. ...

I Guess I Will Make It My Life's Mission To Warn Others About Omniscribes Sm
May 05, 2013

so that they do not end up in the same position I am. I entered into the agreement fair and square with no mention of having to wait to be paid, yet here I sit, waiting, perhaps forever. I cannot even come up with the $96 to file a small claims case against her until I get my first check from the new job. She sits in church and paints herself as this giving, caring, Christian woman, goes home to her nice house with 2 vehicles, while I sit here in my tiny apartment with my ancient car, wonderi ...
