Okay, so I got a job offer! Yeah, sounds great but the pay was at low level, but I kept my options opened and I said okay. They do not use the standard counting and count a line if there is only one word. I thought Wow that is strange but maybe the companies I have been for are more on the straight and narrow. Then she told me no contract, just too much paperwork and a lot of "mumble jumble". I thought okay odd but okay. Then said told me it was on a trial basis and I get paid twice a month but no sets times just when she gets around to billing who the client is and it would be followed after she receives payment. I can deal with all these "odd" things and I am not saying this company or person is not legit BUT this was an ad I responded to the job section here with just an email address and no company name. We are now at the point, of here download this 14-day trial and if it works well for us you will have to purchase it, which I am okay with because maybe I can use it in the future with other companies. But here is here I draw the line. She will not give me the company name, no company website, as she stated many do not have one, I only have her first name and no last, she will not give me a phone number or a fax number and wants to "email" my social security number. YEAH RIGHT!!! Do you see where I am getting. Scam!!! Oh wait, she also wants my DOB as well. What happened to filling out a W9 or providing a picture ID. PLEASE, no matter how bad you want the job, keep all these questions in mind when starting or looking. Do your homework and research the company at the BBB, etc. Is there a way that MT Stars can review these companies ahead of time before allowing them to be looking for MTs?
