Training without new hire paperwork - MTsasha

I was hired into a company last week.  Now, I am asked to be trained without signing any new employee paperwork and to get started immediately.  I was told my paperwork would come via email and I should sign and send it back, but I have yet to receive anything,but I am being pushed to start transcribing reports.  Might this be so that they can decide if they want me to stay or not.  Are they trying to see my work first before they send me the full employee packet.  I took a very detailed on-line MTTest for them and passed with flying colors.  So what else could it be.

I have been testing and accepted an offer from a company recently, but I have a theory. If the company is disorganized in its hiring process, your whole experience with them will be that way. When you have a question or concern, the right hand still will not know what the left hand is doing and you'll be frustrated. I currently am just getting the runaround from the company I accepted the offer from. It's one excuse after another. Oh such and such will contact you and get you the paperwork, then such and such will train you, but then they all go missing in action. MOVING ON.. So, honestly, if you have not gotten paperwork, I wouldn't waste your time.

Even with paperwork, some companies expect you to work for peanuts while they work through their technical issues...and even then you're not sure if you're considered an employee. They get away with way too much. Definitely hold off IMHO.

In 2009, I accepted a position with a company with first name beginning with "B" that operated just like the one that the original poster for this thread describes. The paperwork came a few weeks later, way after I was "trained" and started to work. It seemed that there was a lot of disorganization from the beginning. I didn't want to believe that I had made a bad choice in accepting the job, so I kept plugging along.

Training consisted of the account manager reading the account specs. She did not miss a beat, even when my other phone rang. Even though "training" was supposed to last for a mandatory three days, it was whittled down to less than two days without notice to me. I was expected to take a two-hour break and then start my regular shift, working a total of 14 hours that day. NO, I did not agree to that.

Then, communication was almost nonexistent.

I personally needed more contact with the management, especially when first starting the job. Also, the QA dept there had some really weird ways of interpreting the BOS, third edition.

Also, the work just dribbled in. I decided that the job was more trouble than it was worth. So, I quit. I appreciated the learning experience, though. It was an eye-opener, in many ways.

Could this possibly be Breitner? Breitner did this to me and if you don't get their program within 2-3 days, you're out. Thus they save all the paperwork hassle.

I have never been through a more horrific new hire training process anywhere.  This is such a mess and I'm more confused than ever.  Already guarded about my decision with taking a job, I'm more than ever regretting this!!!  I just want to quit and I haven't even gotten started yet.  Will it get better if I can get through all this training?  I haven't even gotten to my account yet!! ...

It has been 9 years since my one and only raise, so after hassling CCM for last few months, she finally got on the ball with it.  First, I had to have an audit, which was done on 10/01 and my score was 99.89, so she went ahead with the paper work.  She told me a couple of days ago via IM that the paperwork had been submitted (however she failed to say when).  Soooo, my question is....how long does it take for it to go through? ...

Just a question for everyone.  I accepted a position and was to hear by the end of this week from my manager about doing some training on Tuesday of next week and have not heard one word.  I did receive foot pedal, etc.  I put a call out to the recruiter who told me my manager was going to contact me, but of course at MQ you always have to leave a message.  Is this the norm for new employees?????  Any comments are appreciated. ...

part-timers for weekend work anymore?  That's the way it was done for years, full-timers for M-F and part-timers for weekends, and it worked great because so many MTs are looking for extra weekend part-time work anyway.  It seems to be mostly the bigger corporations, as usual, changing things for the worse here.  Is it just the laziness of the HR & management people, not wanting to process part-timers?  I suspect a lot of the very-experienced MTs are working at small ...

I've had a job offer with a transcription company..however, my problem is I'm required to have MS Word, version 2007 or 2010,,,no student/teacher/starter or trial editions....and I've gone to Best Buy, E Bay and Amazon.  The cheapest I have found to dowload it is $300 !!  That's not happening....so, is there a less expensive way ??? If not, I'm faced with turning down this job offer.   HELP !! ...

I just started with Nuance this past week.  During the hiring process, I had good communication with the recruiter.  During training, there was good communication with the person in charge of my training.  However, since my first day on the job, I have only heard from my TSM once, and that was a bulk e-mail to lots of people.   Is this typical?  I've been reviewing my QA in Fiesa and making notes, but should I be expecting any other kind of feedback or communication ...
